Walk through the beautiful Perth hills from Kalamunda Uniting Church to Foothills UC (Forrestfield), ask friends and family to sponsor you, and raise money for the mobile medical clinic run by our partners in Timor Leste. Our 10km trek is representative of the long distance people in remote communities in Timor Leste often have to walk to be able to access medical attention. The clinic provides life saving community based health services to these remote communities.

As part of the Act2 Project focus on the theological life of the Uniting Church, we're dropping reflections every week from our theologians and reflectors. The first three are now up, from Rev Assoc Prof Geoff Thompson, Anne Muirhead and Rev Dr Michelle Cook. Here are some of the ideas so far...
💡 In the Uniting Church, it is not theological 'culture' but cultures
💡 'Theological culture' is an unusual, uncommon term
💡 Theology is embodied and emerges from Christian communities as they love and serve God and respond to the gospel of Jesus Christ
💡 Having many rich streams of theological formation "for seekers to learn about, befriend and love God and God’s creation" is the heart of a ‘theological culture’
💡 We will nurture a culture of discipling when institutions of our Church understand this is their primary responsibility
💡 Contesting the claim that theological colleges are “central among” the theologically formative institutions we have as a Church
Stay tuned as we add new contributions each week: https://www.act2uca.com/theological-culture-contributions

To mark Homelessness Week, we held a "Tranby Connect" event for the people who are at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness, at our Tranby Engagement Hub.
Tranby service users joined us for a hot meal and were also invited to choose personal items they needed, including shampoo, socks, beanies and shoes. In the photo below, Lorysst shows off her new pair of boots, which were a perfect fit.
A range of support service teams, including Centrelink and Street Law Centre WA Inc were on hand to provide information and one on one advice to service users at Tranby.

We had a brilliant morning at church celebrating God's gifts of diversity in culture and language -and yes, enjoying them in song, dance, and food. We brought out treasure seeing what is old and what is new. For all our differences in theology, politics, age, abilities, nothing can separate us from the love of God!
From our Psalm this Sunday. Let the hearts that seek Yahweh rejoice!

🕯 Day 3 of let us pray: 'Come Holy Spirit… bring Your living water to my thirsty soul. Create in my five people, a deep thirst for Your refreshment, then send Your Spirit to satisfy it.

One in Christ: one in the the cross, one in glory!
Today we mark the beginning of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity and give thanks for the common ground and shared life we have with other Christians in Australia and around the world. We pray that these may ever grow as together we find our identity and call in Christ, and seek to live as agents of peace and justice. We share this prayer from Rev Anne Hewitt, Uniting Church Minister and Executive Officer Churches Together SA .
Together, Holy One, we turn to you.
Together, Loving One, we sing our faith with harmony.
Together, Listening One, we raise to you our praise and worship.
For together, as your people
we know so much more than we can understand alone.
Open our ears to your calling of being faithful people together.
Strengthen our resolve to share our resources.
Help us learn from the generosity of the early Followers of the Way.
Draw our focus so we see and work together for all, ‘as any have need’.
For we know of your love, and share in your grace,
and understand the wealth that is alive in our heart and soul
that comes with belonging to your faith-filled family.
As Easter people, we walk forwards
Blessed by the breath of your Spirit,
Guided by the Word of Christ
Called to be your family
Together in unity – one heart and soul.
