A mere two years after graduating from the College and now studying Computer Engineering at McGill University, she has established the Lakshmi Roy Fortitude Bursary to provide financial assistance to students who have demonstrated generosity and compassion through community involvement, as well as strength in overcoming adversity. Tonight is the premiere of this year's ArtsFest theatre production and you can join via Zoom! See below for how you can check it out. What is your favourite ArtsFest memory?

ArtsFest 2021 continues with an invitation from Professor Christine Samson’s Theatre Creation class to watch its production of the play Circle Mirror Transformation. Written by Pulitzer Prize-winning American playwright Annie Baker, the play is a study of relationships over the course of a six-week community centre creative-drama workshop.

The Marianopolis production stars Samantha Demers, Lola Gilmore, Tobias Kimmelman, Flora Situ and An Hoang Nhi Nguyen, supported by a crew comprised of Andrea Bou-Nader, Robert Chen, Unhui Choi, Nigel Ojuang and Alexander Xue.

The two live productions start at 7 this Friday and Saturday night and run about 75 minutes. The Zoom link for Friday is https://marianopolis.zoom.us/j/84939277247, for Saturday, https://marianopolis.zoom.us/j/87846253794

“The students asked the question, ‘What if this community centre workshop and these relationships happened in 2021, by necessity on Zoom?’,” says Professor Samson. “Every one of the students in the Theatre Creation class cheerfully volunteered many hours over and above their course requirements in order to adapt this compassionate story of love, loss and Zoom room theatre class.”
