This work is part of the library's Austrian history collection. It is particularly strong for the history of from the 18th to the early 20th century as well as Austrian regional and urban history. New in the library is an edition of Anderson and Dibble's English translation (with Nahuatl text) of Sahagún's Historia general...de Nueva España, which now sits alongside the Spanish editions readers can find in the library

This is a wide ranging source from the 16th century, presenting us with a picture of indigenous societies. It is a particularly rich source on religious and magical beliefs, being cited in the recent workshop on Histories of Witchcraft and Magic https://buff.ly/3wFKByn

All change on the new displays. On the 1st and 2nd floor is a selection of recent arrivals ranging from Indian political accounts during the British occupation, Welsh medieval historiography and Spanish accounts during Franco's dictatorship.

Included is a physical copy gifted to the library of Talking History, which discusses the past and continuing importance of the 's seminar programme. This title is also available online, open access (https://buff.ly/4cQG9MK). A round-table discussion will also be taking place next Thursday from 5.30 (https://buff.ly/3WaTtG4)

For those few who haven't had their fill of all things electorial, the library has several collections on elections as well as a large collection of poll books. For those who definitely have, thankfully we have many other collections...and a really nice common room.

Dr Clyve Jones (1944-2024)
Unfortunately we are sharing the sad news that Clyve Jones passed away on the 21st June. Many will know Clyve, either as one of the library staff at the IHR for many decades or as one of the UK's foremost parliamentary historians, who leaves behind an extensive body of research.
As historian, librarian and friend, Clyve will be greatly missed .

You may know membership is free. Just fill out an online form and your card will either be sent in the post or you can pick it up at the reception. Additionally for our existing readers, you can renew your membership online, just use the same form

Library Membership The IHR Wohl Library offers free membership for academic staff, students and researchers.

Its new time again. On the first floor are some recent additions including + lives in , the relationship between history and dance and the memoir of the Myanmarese journalist Chit Maung (1913-1945)
