म डा. यज्ञ राज पोखरेल। म जनरल प्राक्टिशनरको रुपमा पाटन स्वास्थ्य विज्ञान प्रतिष्ठानमा इमर्जेन्सी सुपरिवेक्षक तथा जनरल ओपिडीमा कार्यरत छु । जब संसारमा कोभिड देखा पर्न थाल्यो, पाटन स्वास्थ्य विज्ञान प्रतिष्ठानमा पहिले देखि नै महामारी व्यवस्थापन योजना थियो । हामीले सो योजना २०१८ मा नै विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन को सहयोग मा परिक्षण प्रयोग ( disaster drill) गरि सकेका थियौ ।
त्यसै सन्दर्भमा बिरामीको पहिलो भेट हुने आकस्मिक विभागमा कार्य गर्ने भए पछि यी सबै कुरा आफुले मात्र जानेर हैन, सबैलाइ बुझाउने, पढाउने, प्रयोगात्मक अभ्यास गराउने जिम्मेवारी हामी सबैको काँधमा थियो । हामी सबै motivated थियौ कि सबै कर्मचारीलाई हामीले सुरक्षित बनाउनु पर्ने छ भनेर । हामी सबै जना आफ्नो चिकित्सकीय ज्ञानको सदुपयोग विरामीको सेवामा गर्न पाइने भयो भन्नेमा आशा वादी तथा उत्प्रेरित थियौ ।
यसै बिच जेठ असार महिनामा मेरो मोटरसाइकल एक्सिडेन्ट् भयो र दायाँ हातले काम गर्न नसक्ने भयो । दुई हप्ताको रेस्टमा नि मलाइ यो महामारीमा आफुले काम गर्न नपाउदा ग्लानी महसुस भयो र चार हप्ता रेस्ट गर्नु पर्ने हुदा हुँदै म २ हप्तामै काममा फर्के ।
हाम्रो अस्पतालले सधै कोभिड र नन कोभिड विरामी साथ साथै हेर्दै गयो । कोभिडको निम्ति छुट्टै इमर्जेन्सी , वार्ड व्यवस्था गर्यो र नन कोभिड को निमति छुट्टै । धेरै जसो हाम्रो काम हप्तामा १ पल्ट २४ घण्टे डिउटी गर्नु पर्ने र अर्को एक दिन fever clinic मा काम गर्नु पर्ने रुटिन हो ।
हामीलाइ अस्पतालले नै सम्पुर्ण PPE उपलब्ध गराएको छ । हामीलाइ मास्क, फेस शिल्ड र स्यानिटाइजर अनिवार्य नै थियो । सबैले यो प्रोटोकल फलो गरेको हो । तर जे गरे नि हामीलाई एक न एक दिन लाग्छ भन्ने सबैलाइ थाहा थियो । त्यसै अनुसार हामीले आफुलाइ तैयार गर्दै थियौ ।
कुरो आश्विन १९ को हो मेरो इमर्जेन्सी मा २४ घण्टे डिउटी थियो । म डिउटीको काम सकेर राती ११ बजे घर आए । डिउटीको रात खासै सुतिन्न । दुइवटा प्रश्नपत्र तैयार गर्नु पर्ने थियो , त्यो तैयार गर्दा गर्दै २ वज्यो । म अब सुत्छु भनेको त मलाइ जीउ ताते जस्तो लाग्यो । त्यसपछी मैले थर्मोमिटरले नापेको त १०२ डिग्री पो । अब मैले थाहा पाए कि यो कोभिड हो भनेर । त्यसपछी सिटामोल खाए, मलाइ निथ्रुक्क भिज्ने गरि पसिना आयो । जिउ पुरै दुख्न थाल्यो अनि अक्सिमिटर ले अक्सिजन चेक गरेको त ८९% मात्र जबकी हुनु पर्ने ९४% भन्दा बढी थ्यो ।
त्यसपछी मैले डाक्टर बिमल पाण्डे , कोभिड कोअर्डिनेटर लाई भने अनि म भर्ना भए ।
पारिवारिक कुरो गर्दा- म र श्रीमती दुबै पाटन अस्पतालमै काम गर्छौ । हाम्री छोरी ६ वर्ष पुग्न लागिन । हामी अस्पताल को क्वार्टर मै बस्छौ । घरमा संक्रमण नआओस भनेर हामी धेरै सजग थिऔ । घर भित्र छिर्नु अघि नै स्यानिटाइजर को प्रयोग, साबुन पानीले हात धुने काम गरिन्छ । घरमा छिरे पछि पहिलो काम नै बाथरुम छिरेर नुहाउने, अस्पतालको कपडा साबुनले सफा गर्ने अनि मात्र छोरी लाई भेट्ने गर्छौ ।
मेरी ८६ वर्षकी आमा हुनुहुन्छ, उहाँ गैडाकोट मा बस्नु हुन्छ ठूलो छोरा सँग । आमा सँग लगभग फोनमा कुरा हुन्छ । यो पाली त भेट नभएको नि झण्डै एक वर्ष हुन लाग्यो । आमा ले पुरुषोत्तम महिनाको पुजा लाउने भनेर बोलाउनु भएको थियो, त्यसै बिचमा म आफै संक्रमित भएर अस्पताल बस्नु पर्ने भयो । उता पुजा नि भएन, दशै नि त्यस्तै भयो । लगभग १६ दिन को बसाइ पछि बल्ल म अस्पतालबाट घर आए ।

Nepal Medical Association Junior Doctors Network conducted a survey on June 11 to estimate the number of face shield required by frontline doctors in Nepal . The Estimated number of total Faceshield was 1072576 . After that we requested for support from various Organisations . Although we just asked for face shiled Chautary Nepal came forward to support our activity by donating 300 on First Phase . The Gear will be distributed from today . We will try our best to distribute these to all the respondents. There may be some logistics issue due to lockdown but we assure that one packet will be given to each respondent who had filled the form. Please feel free to communicate regarding how we can reach you so that it can be delivered asap.

Peaceful Protest at Maitighar Mandala .

1) We from central JDC informed local NMA : Dr Pramod Ray sir and NMA central General Secretary ( Dr Badri Rijal sir ) at around 8 AM in the morning
2) NMA local branch meeting was held at 11 am
3) Local JDC focal persons Dr Bishal Subedi ,Dr Manish Pandey and Dr Satyanarayan Yadav were informed
4) Police were approched
5) Two Culprits are taken into custody
6) Further Meeting will be held at 3 pm today

Despite risking their life to save patient in covid pandemic , Doctors are being beaten to death . Yesterday , our doctor Dr Sudhakar Jha was beaten by patient party while performing his duty at Medca Hospital , Jhapa .
Local NMA and Govt official are informed about the incident . There is meeting at 11 am . We have sent Our ( Dr ) to follow the case . All the involved culprit should be punsihed as per per the Govt decision made on Chaitra 22, 2076 . Most of the time such incidents happens in emergency department . If security is not ensured how will young doctors save the life of patients at ER? Immediate action needs to be taken or else we shall be forced to take some strong step which may hamper the nation and society .

Junior Doctor's Committee ( Nepal Medical Association) strongly condems the heinous act of attack on working doctors. Doctors are trained to save lives and in course of saving lives, we do lose many of our patients. In the pandemic situation, where all the doctors are working under high pressure, we expect a supportive working environment from the government and public, but attacking doctors on duty is an act that clearly reflects the fall in humanity which can be fatal for the society and country. We demand justice on behalf of the working doctors and to save our professional colleagues we are ready to confront any form of protest.
