Hey there wonderful gluten gang just a little heads up that I will out of town visiting some family for the 4th of July holiday week. Be gone Tuesday July 2nd thru Friday July 5th. Back to normal next week . Happy 4th have lots of fun! ❤️💥🍞

This past week was hugely impactful to my journey as a professional baker. Although I have worked at my craft for the past ten years I still suffered from a deep lack of confidence. It seemed liked the more I learned about baking bread the less I felt like I actually knew and this realization at times became crippling. “I’ll just make the same bread. People seem to like it. I am not going to try anything new. I’ll mess it up.” So I didn’t and by not evolving and always playing it safe I lost a sense of fun and curiosity that was there when I first started baking. I owe a deep gratitude to and for restoring my joy for discovery. I look forward to working on some new bread for all of you and hopefully you will enjoy this journey too! I learned a lot about milling this past week but I learned even more about myself and I can’t wait to share that with all of you. Hope to see you at market this week! ❤️🍞

Hey there Gluten Gang just a little heads up that I won’t be at market all this week because I’m up working on improving my whole grain skills 💪🍞

Tiny bit of bad news gluten gang. Another brick is coming down at the top of the oven dome so I have to climb inside to puddy it back into place. The repair is going to need a few days to cure into place before I can start heating the oven up again. That means I am out of operation until probably Friday . I am so sorry to not be able to bake for you but hopefully all goes well and back to business soon ❤️

Gluten gang! I’m sorry but there is no bread today. As you know bread takes awhile to plan and Tuesday bread process starts on Sunday. Well, according to Sunday’s weather we were suppose to be in the middle of a typhoon (which would have made it hard to bake outside). So now I have a sunny day off. Any fun suggestions? 📸

Just a little heads up for Thursday gluten gang. Apparently we have buckets of rain heading our way, which makes it difficult to bake in an outdoor wood fired oven. I can usually manage keeping the bread dry if it’s a sprinkle or occasional shower but it’s suppose to be pretty rough out there so I am going to be missing the Morro Bay Market ☹️ Also I don’t know if you heard that my buddy is under the weather. I just feel like nobody wants wet bread unless there is tasty soup to dunk it in so that’s another factor making this Thursday extra sad. I am shooting to be baking for on Friday. You all stay nice and dry!

Hi there gluten gang! I wish I woke up smiling like this today but unfortunately I’m down for the count. I won’t be at market in Morro Bay today or tomorrow. It’s not Covid don’t worry but I am certainly not in any shape to make bread. I am so sorry to not be there. I hate not being able to bake for you! But hopefully with some rest I will be back to my old self soon ❤️🍞

Wishing you all the warmest of holidays and the brightest of New Years. Cindy and I are taking a little time to be with family December 25 thru January 1st but we look forward to heating up 2024! Thank you for letting us bake for you throughout the year ❤️🔥

The facelift for Cindy has been going well. She’s all bandaged up but I have to wait awhile for the new face to set to be able to get back to work. Unfortunately I won’t be at market today in Morro Bay or tomorrow but we will be back in action for next week. ❤️

Hi there gluten gang! I got a tiny bit of bad news. Another small brick came down at the top of my oven dome so I’m climbing inside to repair it. Unfortunately I won’t have bread or today. Hey there gluten gang! I have a tiny bit of bad news. My shoulder had some trouble again this week (from doing this action over and over again) and I needed to take a little time off to get fixed up so I could move it again. Unfortunately that meant I wasn’t able to bake for Thursday in Morro Bay today but I’m all feeling a hundred times better and back in action now so I will be tomorrow 12-5. My apologies for missing you today but it’s so nice to actually be able to use my arm 😂🍞📸

Gluten gang! I’m so glad to be back! My little hand injury is healing up well and it’s right back to building fires and baking bread. I’ll be in Morro Bay today 2:00-4:30 with parmesan black pepper for the special loaf today. Sure hope you can swing by ❤️🔥🍞

Can you do me a favor and just take a second to bask in the glory of the beautifully sacked wood because it’s the reason I’m not at market today or tomorrow ☹️. I was under my oven stacking away when I miscalculated throwing wood and ended up hurting my finger pretty bad. Lots of blood and lots of crying. I’m fine. Nothing broken. I’ll live but it has made it tough to make handmade bread with a sad little paw. So I’m resting up and when I’m de-bandaged I’ll be right back in action! So sorry to miss you all today ❤️

Wonderful gluten gang! I have a tiny bit of bad news. tried their best to be open today but the weather is looking like it’s going to get pretty terrible right when the market starts and the parking lot is already flooding☹️ so unfortunately no bread at the farmstand today but I will be taking a BUNCH over to and shooting for 12:00. If you’re looking for bread go hit them up because they’ll definitely have it. Thank you so much friends and stay cozey and dry today ❤️🌧️

So this probably couldn’t have happened on a worse week but it looks like I won’t be back to baking until after Christmas! I’m so sorry gluten gang. A brick on the dome came down and Bill at Straight Up Concrete is saving the day and sticking it back up but it will take a few days to cure in place before I can start abusing Cindy the oven again. Please send us your healing thoughts we can sure use them around here ❤️🔥

So the sun set on my Hawaii vacation and I’m back home. Thank you so much for all your wonderful suggestions for things to do in Maui! My family and I had a wonderful time! I’m afraid I did hit a little snafu scheduling wise and I’m not going to be at market in Morro Bay today but bread will be ready to go for tomorrow Friday 9th at Halcyon Farms! Can’t wait to see you guys and be back to baking ❤️🍞

I promise I didn’t photoshop this background and order a lei off of Amazon just to get out of getting up at 4am to start shoveling bread into the oven. 😂 I had to chance to take a trip with my family and I just had to jump on it. I will be back to regular baking schedule Thursday September 8th. I’ve never been to Maui if I do manage to pull myself away from the beach and my mai tai anything I should definitely check out? 🏝🍞
