BCBS calls may not have been a scam afterall. Vivien has added new screenshots and info via the comments.
(original message was- Vivien, one of our ASM Board members received a call from 800-791-7905. The woman said she was Pat from Blue Cross Blue Shield Massachusetts and was asking for Vivien's practice contact info, which is mandated by the state every 90 days. Pat provided Vivien's office name and noted this was the 2nd time she called. Needless to say Vivien didn't think it sounded right. Vivien called BCBS provider services at 800-443-6657 and verified that this was a scam.

The ASM is sharing this information in hopes that it can help others identify and report scam as needed.

Per the COA: the only persons who cannot use this designation or person who have received a PhD in a field other than acupuncture. They may not refer to themselves as doctor in their advertisements, or to their patients for more information. Please contact the COA.
