Congratulations to Creekview High School Counselor Kristie Sikes for being named Counselor of the Year for Cherokee County School District!
I just can’t tell you how proud I am of your career, Kristie,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower said as he presented the honor, sharing he has known Ms. Sikes since she was a beginning teacher at E.T. Booth MS, where he previously served as a teacher and principal. “There is no one more deserving of this award than you! We love the work that you do on behalf of our kids.”
Principal Santoro said Ms. Sikes “takes to heart” the school’s goals of raising academic achievement and increasing on-time graduation, “cultivating a culture in the guidance department where they feel like it is their responsibility to put our students in a position to be successful.”
“You mean the world to us and to this community,” he said. “We all rely on you and count on you.”
Ms Sikes’ impact on the Creekview community is far reaching! We are so proud that she is a Grizzly!
Twenty one Creekview High School TSA students competed in the State TSA Conference March 15-18th in Athens, Georgia. The team won 9th place Outstanding Chapter out of 135 schools, Bailey Hancock and Sydney Neff won 2nd Place in Debating Technical Issues, Max McMahan and Nathan Sewell won 2nd in Structural Engineering, and Noah Clary, Matthew Short and Johnny Schaly won 3rd place in System Control Technology. Students also placed in the top 10 for Chapter Team, CAD Architecture, Transportation Modeling, Extemporaneous Speech, Outstanding Student, Geospatial Technology, Manufacturing Prototype, Music Production and Website Design. Multiple students qualified to attend Nationals in Louisville, KY this June.
Congrats to Connor Vitak, Creekview HS 12th grade, whose ceramic artwork “Blossom and Bloom” was accepted into the ATL HS Art Exhibition! His work will be exhibited at the Dogwood Festival in Atlanta in April! Way to go Connor!

AP (Advanced Placement) and Dual Enrollment Night for Rising 9th-12th!
Please join us on Tuesday, February 28th at 6:30 P.M. for AP (Advanced Placement) and Dual Enrollment Night. We will have two informational meetings so that parents and students can attend both if desired. Our AP meeting will be in the theater beginning at 6:30 and again at 7:10. Our Dual Enrollment meeting will be in the cafeteria beginning at 6:30 and again at 7:10. The AP meeting is for students who are new to taking AP courses. There will be a brief overview and explanation of taking AP courses in a high school, and a few of our AP teachers will speak specifically about expectations and answer questions. The Dual Enrollment meeting will cover general information about taking college courses in high school, as well as the many options and opportunities which come with dual enrollment. There will be representatives from Chattahoochee Technical College, Kennesaw State University, Reinhardt University, and University of North Georgia available to answer questions. We hope to see you there!

Nearly 400 juniors and seniors took advantage of the opportunity to visit, explore and learn about the 38 businesses that participated in the annual career fair!
Attention seniors and juniors - we will be hosting our annual career fair on Thursday, Nov 3 during all lunches at the top of the gym. Come dressed for success and bring a resume if you can. If you need help with résumé writing stop by the WBL office in A19 for samples and tips! Whether you’re looking for a part-time job or fixing to graduate and go into the the work force you may just meet your next boss at this event!
The college Probe Fair will be at Cherokee High School with about 75+ colleges represented. Monday, 10/24, from 6-8pm, all grades welcome (North gym and cafe).
We will also host a Junior/senior advisement session for parents right before Probe, from 5:15-6pm in the main cafeteria.
This week Creekview students are enjoying visiting the Be Pro Be Proud tour rig and learning about all the various Skilled Trades professions!
