June 27th is National PTSD Awareness Day and PTSD Screening Day, which is part of National PTSD Awareness Month.

The day was established in 2010 by the United States Senate to honor Army Staff Sgt. Joe Biel, who died by su***de in 2007 after returning from his second tour of duty in Iraq. Biel's birthday was June 27th

At Celebrate Recovery we take Mental Health and Welcome Home very serious.

Welcome Home is Celebrate Recovery’s tool to help veterans stuck in hurts, hang-ups, and habits. Welcome Home is an Open Share Group for veterans led by veterans.

The Mental Health Team’s mission is to equip local Celebrate Recovery ministries to empower individuals to achieve serenity with their mental health.

🎉The Skit Guys starred in their first feature film, FAMILY CAMP, a faith-based family comedy, which released in theaters across the U.S. on May 13, 2022, and ranked as the No. 1 new family movie during its opening weekend. Tommy and Eddie have traveled the world performing at events, churches, and conferences. They have grown SkitGuys.com into a media resource for pastors with countless videos and scripts that are used in churches all over the world. The Skit Guys also have a web series called Bedtime Bible Stories, their “Laugh More” podcast, and a book on friendship called “Smells Like Bacon,” as well as comedy DVDs.

When they’re not performing or shooting new videos, both guys are serving in their local churches, enjoying good food (especially pizza and fries!), and loving life with their families. We are so excited to have The Skit Guys at this year's Summit One Day At A Time.

Do you remember when you had your Jesus encounter? Where was it? What happened?

In my case, I was lost and Broken. In my case, I had spent so many years chasing the world that I felt unlovable and misunderstood most of the time.

What Changed? I visited a local Celebrate Recovery group where I was welcomed and loved on from the start! This is how my Road to Recovery started. It was at a Friday Night after Small group where I had my Jesus Christ encounter, and I have been working on my Hurts, Hang-ups, and Habits ever since.

That's why I'm thankful for Jesus Christ and Celebrate Recovery. That's why I keep coming back. I know with Jesus in my life, I'm a new creation compared to my old life without Jesus!What's your God-filled story?

There are so many reasons to keep going to meetings throughout the course of your recovery. One is that our presence helps the newcomer in ways we sometimes overlook.

Remember your very first meeting, or just before that meeting... baffled, frightened, angry, desperate, lonely, hopeless, confused, and yet somehow sitting within seconds and inches from where willingness and clarity met.

You help newcomers feel comfortable and show others they are not alone.
