We are excited to welcome teen entrepreneur and author Fenley Scurlock in celebration of his new book, Down to Business. BONUS! Fenley will be in conversation with Claire Coder, founder and CEO (Chief Estrogen Officer) of Aunt Flow!

Along with co-author Jason Liaw, they interviewed 51 industry leaders. Down to Business is perfect for budding entrepreneurs (and their adult counterparts) as a comprehensive guide to starting a business, finding success, and, yes, making money.

Fenley Scurlock has run a business making artisanal soaps and pens since he was seven; he sells at farmers’ markets, in his online store, and at kids’ business fairs. He has won multiple business, sales, and marketing awards and has been interviewed by Fast Company and Kids 2 Market, as well as many local media outlets.

#1. Jonathan Todd and TIMID (Pub. April 2nd, 2024, Graphix). A semiautobiographical middle-grade graphic novel about frenemies, fitting in, and finding your voice.

The day has arrived with pre-conference festivities starting tonight! Growing up shy most of his childhood, sometimes Mr. Bryan stills feels timid, sometimes at conferences. However, he cares deeply about children’s lit & the shop and hopes that some of the amazing authors & illustrators will partner with us in the future.
