This evening, the Immigrants Make Columbus Project research team presented its findings and recommendations to community members at the Fawcett Center. We’re thankful to share this space during the final days of National Immigrant Heritage Month and to help amplify immigrant voices in Columbus, and beyond.

A special thanks to all those who helped contribute to this community-academic partnership, including Councilmember Lourdes Barroso de Padilla!

A special congrats to Ladan Haji!

Ladan, an alum and field coordinator at the college, was recently recognized at the 2024 Global Somali Awards! This gathering is designed to unite diaspora Somalis in different settings and celebrate their accomplishments.

Earlier this year, Ladan also received Field Education Team Member of the Year. We’re so thankful for Ladan’s brilliant work and for all that she does to help strengthen our community.

We don’t say those words enough. We all struggle and we all need time. As the busyness of May makes way for June, let’s continue to advocate for mental health awareness by using our words, kindness and support.
