Our Dolphins are 100 days smarter! We had a great time celebrating the 100th day of school at TDA yesterday. 💯 🐬

Hello TDA Families! Re-enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year starts Monday, January 29th, 2024. Re-enrollment is only for currently enrolled students and any new siblings that will be attending TDA next school year. Re-enrollment is online and a Google Form link will be sent out on Monday via Remind. Spots are limited for each grade level, so be sure to re-enroll your child(ren) early! Re-enrollment ends Friday, February 23rd, 2024.

Today a representative from the Dearborn Fire Department came to speak to our 3rd graders about fire safety. Students learned about stop, drop, and roll, smoke detectors, and the importance of having a family evacuation plan in case of a fire in their house. In a few weeks, they’ll have the opportunity to visit the local fire station for hands-on practice with the fire safety tips they were taught today!

The Dearborn Academy is excited to kick-off our annual Fun Run fundraiser! This fundraiser funds the school's classroom materials along with academic and social enrichment activities such as assemblies, field trips, family events, and teacher appreciation. Classes who reach their fundraiser goal will be a part of our Monster Mash event on October 31st!

Hello TDA Families! We hope you are all enjoying your summer! To help you prepare for the upcoming school year, I have attached our 2023-2024 School Calendar and school supply lists for each grade level.

Important August Dates:

- Tuesday, August 15th - Thursday, August 17th: Bus applications will be available in the Main Office from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. All bus applications are due to the Main Office by Thursday, August 17th at 1:00 PM. Please note: completing an application DOES NOT guarantee your child(ren) will be on the bus. If more students apply for the bus than we have spots available for, a lottery will be done to determine who gets a spot on each bus. Bus assignments and times will be passsed out at Open House on Thursday, August 24th.

- Thursday, August 24th: Back to School Open House from 12:00 - 3:00 PM. If your last name starts with A-H, please come between 12:00-1:30 PM. If your last name starts with I-Z, please come between 1:30-3:00 PM. This is an opportunity for you to complete back to school forms, meet your new teachers, and enjoy an ice cream sundae! You can also visit our NEW playground!

- Monday, August 28th: First day of school for K-8 students! Doors open at 7:30 AM for breakfast; school starts at 8:00 AM. It is a half-day of school on the first day; dismissal is at 11:30 AM.

Today really was a great day at TDA! 🐬

We held our City Beautiful Spring Program in partnership with the City of Dearborn Government and the Dearborn City Beautiful Commission. Our TDA family promised to be leaders in taking care of our school by picking up litter, planting trees to prevent flooding, reducing, reusing, and recycling, and planting flowers and gardens to beautify our school.

With the help of our Student Lighthouse Team and Mayor Abdullah H. Hammoud, we held a small ceremony to announce the name of our new tree, Winter, and dedicate our memorial garden to our beloved Ms. Amal, Ms. Mounia, and Ms. Amal K. We hope that “Winter” and our memorial garden will provide a peaceful place for our school community to visit when they are fighting their own battles or enduring hardships and encourage them to keep fighting!

Our Student Lighthouse team celebrated Charter School Week at the State Capitol in Lansing today to show our support for charter schools! We even had a special tour of the House of Representatives Chamber. Thank you Michigan's Charter Schools and CMU Charters for having us!

Honored to have State Representative Alabas Farhat pay a visit to our incredible charter school! 🎉✨ Their genuine interest in our students and dedicated staff is truly commendable. Our Lady Dolphins Volleyball team ended their season 7-3. They competed in today’s volleyball tournament and definitely made us proud!

Classroom teachers participated in a mystery teacher reader swap for March is Reading Month.

Judge Gene Hunt from the 19th District Court shared his favorite book with Ms. Marei’s 3rd graders. One of our Dolphins even had the opportunity to be “judge” during the read aloud! Thank you for visiting, Judge Hunt!

Wayne RESA Superintendent, Dr. Daveda Colbert, was a Mystery Reader in Mrs. Althouse’s 1st grade class today.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our dear Amal Kadry, who worked tirelessly in our school kitchens for many years. We are deeply saddened by this loss, and our thoughts and condolences go out to Amal's family and friends during this difficult time.

Amal was a beloved member of our school community and touched the lives of so many. She was always there with a kind word and a smile for our students and staff. Amal truly embodied what it means to be a dedicated and caring member of our school family.

We will always remember Amal Kadry for her contributions to our school community, and she will be greatly missed. Please join us in honoring Amal's memory and in keeping her loved ones in our thoughts and prayers.

We ask Allah to grant her the highest level of Jannah and may Allah give us all the strength to cope with this loss and to remember Amal Kadry's legacy of kindness and service.

6th Graders in Mrs. Cartwright’s marketing class held their first Entrepreneurship Day today. Students have worked all semester to create their own small business and were able to sell their products to staff and students today!

Congratulations to our November Leaders of the Month. These students were nominated by their teachers for modeling the 8 Habits. They were treated to a special lunch with the administrators! We’re so proud of you, Dolphins!
