Our beautiful Meadows Gallery is currently getting an exciting makeover! 😍For the next 4 weeks, the gallery will be under construction. 🚧 We are SO excited to reveal the amazing changes at our 30 under 30 exhibition opening on August 19.

We are excited to announce the next exhibiting artist at Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea Teasley, Kelly Stribling Sutherland! 🥳 🌷

Her series of portraiture features high school students she teaches at Little Elm ISD.

Kelly shares, "My students are my subject. I’m intrigued with the brightness, ability, apathy, complexity of a human in this time period. High school is their world and although today their feelings, emotions, and friends are of all importance, they are on the verge of leaving this safety net and venturing out into the world where life will begin again for them. I look at them daily and see their beauty, diversity, identities, body language and I want to paint them. I want to capture them in between polished poses to find their true day to day interactions, sleepiness, strength and tiredness and ultimately their individual beauty."

GDAC is thrilled to announce the open call for the 2025 International Materials: Hard + Soft Contemporary Craft Exhibition! 🎨 ✨

This year marks a special milestone as we introduce a new element to our long-standing exhibition series: digital media and conceptual art. ☁️

Traditionally, this exhibition has celebrated the finest artworks crafted from materials like ceramic, wood, fiber, metal, glass, paper, and mixed media. In 2025, we are excited to expand our horizons and include digital media and conceptual art that explores the themes of hardness and softness through ephemeral mediums such as light (or the absence of light), air, and language. ✨

We invite artists to submit their innovative works that juxtapose concepts and materials in unique and thought-provoking ways. Don't miss this opportunity to be part of an evolving tradition that honors creativity and craftsmanship.

GDAC is receiving some much needed renovations over the next few months, and they began today in our beautiful dance studio! (Did you know we had a dance studio??) It's upstairs, and lovely, and will be back open for use in just a short bit.

Join us for the reading of selected poems by the poets from the Denton Poets’ Assembly in Gough Gallery! Poems are on display alongside their partner artworks inside the gallery where the poetry reading will happen.

June 20th, from 6 - 8 PM inside the gallery.

Free and open to the public! Then, vote for your favorite artwork and poem pairing, and create your own work of art while in the gallery. 🥳 📖

Look at this AMAZING group of kids! 🤩You can see them perform the play they have worked so hard on all week TOMORROW at the Greater Denton Arts Council. Props have been designed and built, lines have been memorized, snacks have been made, and now we just need you to come and enjoy the show!

AND, as a (very special) added bonus, author Tanya Blixt will be in house selling the never before released book that the play is based upon 🥳. See you tomorrow!

K-Pop dance cover artist and performer Kaley Nicole will teach a beginner-friendly dance class to MAESTRO by SEVENTEEN. Be prepared for a challenge, but trust we will have fun and explore bringing some boy-group swag into your style! 😎🫶

Artist, educator and GDAC Executive Director Krissi Oden-Berry is on display at our Sister Gallery location Embassy Suites by Hilton Denton Convention Center!

Krissi's artwork explores space and evokes emotion through color, portraiture and symbolism. Her background is in art history, museum education and art education from both UNT & TWU. She's lived in Denton for 25 years and has made a lasting impression on many parts the local art communities. 🥳

Donations are gratefully accepted from Rotarians and non-Rotarians alike. Donations can be dropped off at Greater Denton Arts Council during business hours.

With this amazing contribution, we are able to inspire and engage our summer camp students with quality art supplies. Thank you so much for your support! 🫶

Join us this evening from 6pm-8pm to hear the amazing sounds of virtuoso flutist Elizabeth McNutt as she returns to the PAAC with a music ensemble for evening concert. She is the principal lecturer in flute at UNT’s College of Music and director of the Nova New Music Ensemble. Elizabeth has played across the United States as well as international. The LA Times dubbed her a “commanding flutist.”
