Congratulations to St. Peter by-the-Lake! We were thrilled to have been a part of the Westport Community 4th of July Parade. We have long enjoyed being the ending spot for the parade, where folks gather to celebrate and picnic. This year was special because we won first place for our fabulous birthday float! Many thanks to Pamela W**d, Betsy Clements, Patrick Duggan, Ron Horne, Dave Moss, Fr. Ron, Freya Gustis, Greta Gustis, Ethan Graham, Evan Graham, Brandi Rudd, Mason Rudd (and Hanna too!) for all their hard work and creativity on the float this year.

The Boomer group (and some friends) enjoy an outing last week to the Duke Exploratorium to watch the Charlotte Symphony. What a beautiful night!

The Collects, or prayers that we read in the Book of Common Prayer and in other Episcopal liturgical resources are full of depth. We will be spending some time reflecting on one for our healing service homily.

"God our healer, whose mercy is like a refining fire: By the loving-kindness of Jesus, heal us and those for whom we pray; that being renewed by you, we may witness your wholeness to our broken world; through Jesus Christ, in the power of the Spirit. Amen."

Would you typically use the words fire and mercy in the same sentence to convey healing? How intriguing! Come, see, and hear more about this prayer and other topics this Thursday at 7 pm.

A day of reflection and meditation, Sacred Paths, A Lenten Experience brought people together as a community to understand that prayer can happen in various ways. We learned how to pray with images, Visio Divina, with our whole bodies walking a labyrinth, and using prayer beads to assist us with focused intention in prayer. An inspiring day leading us deeper into relationship with God.

Join us for Sacred Paths, A Lenten Experience Sat. March 9, 2024.

This Quiet Day is open to anyone who wants to attend, not just women. It is hosted by the Daughters of the King, Grace Chapter, and facilitated by Mother Tara.
A Quiet Day is a time to reflect, pray, and sometimes be quiet. This year's meditations are centered around prayer and the sacred paths we use to pray.
• We will walk a labyrinth
• Learn how to make and pray with the Anglican Rosary
• Learn the practice of Visio Divina, which uses images to pray
The day will begin at 9 am with coffee, tea, and water provided, and then we will end at 3:15 pm. There will be a light lunch provided. Please list any dietary restrictions via the online registration comment box. https://bit.ly/3TcWhkl
