This morning we had to say goodbye to Murphy. He was not only one of our family, but also a member of the Shoreline family. He was the “airport dog” and seemed to have his own fan club. Wherever John was, Murphy was usually at his feet. When he needed a snack, he knew he could always count on certain people (particularly Joe and Joan) to have an ample supply of doggie treats. Over the years he received more than his measure of petting and belly rubs. For the past couple of years Murphy lived with Andrew, Jammie and his best pal Drift. Their favorite pastime was keeping the squirrels off the bird feeders. He spent his retirement years hiking and camping with them, and getting lots of love. We’re going to miss him terribly, but we’re hopeful that where ever he is, he’s found John and they’re resuming their daily walks together. Rest in peace Old Buddy ❤️

Tomorrow is “Giving Tuesday,” and we are asking our friends to donate to the John D. Kelly Scholarship Fund in John’s honor. John understood that many would-be aviators could never take flight without financial assistance from the aviation community. This year, we were able to provide scholarships to three deserving students: a young woman who aspires to be a commercial pilot, and two hard-working Aircraft Maintenance Tech students. Last week the Shoreline Aviation Crew got together to wish Rick Riley a fond farewell. Rick is heading off to seek new adventures in his retirement. A big thank you to Eric and Caroline Weaver for hosting a fantastic going away party for Rick. It was great fun to see all the old crew back together again!

It was a beautiful evening this past Saturday for our annual end of summer splash!

On Saturday, July 27th we bid a fond farewell to our founder and friend, John Kelly, at a Celebration of Life event in the Shoreline hangar. Guests included employees past and present, customers, vendors, neighbors, and friends. The Kelly/Collingwood family would like to thank the people who were brave enough to speak about John and share their stories. At the end of the ceremony, four Shoreline Aviation pilots took flight for a seaplane version of the “missing man formation.” This was followed by a toast to John with some good Irish whiskey. Fair winds John Kelly! Ní bheidh a leithéad arís ann.
