Nathanael recently attended the LPL Advisory Leaders Forum at UCLA’s Anderson School of Management 🎓🏛️. It’s one of our favorite conferences of the year full of classes taught by entrepreneurship professors at UCLA. Throughout the program, Nathanael gained valuable insights on topics like the long-term impact of technology, artificial intelligence, and behavioral science.

3 key takeaways from the conference were:
1️⃣ We tend to view our future self as a different person than us. Connecting with our future selves helps us to make better decisions now.

2️⃣ Having a best friend at work can make a significant difference. Research shows that employees who cultivate close friendships in the workplace are not only 2x more productive but also experience higher job satisfaction.

3️⃣ There is a significant benefit to being outside. Take a walk with your coworker instead of meeting in the office!

Graham (Nathanael’s son) graduated from East Lansing and will attend Wheaton College in the fall studying Biology and Business/Economics.

Joe (Maryann’s son) graduated from Grand Ledge and will attend Michigan Tech majoring in Chemical Engineering.

This scholarship is for grandchildren of Consumers Energy retirees. Bill presented the scholarship at last month’s Forerunners annual meeting, and Alexia’s grandfather, Richard Cottrell accepted on her behalf. Alexia is attending Kent State University. Congratulations!

Nathanael, Scott and Sam just returned from the LPL national conference in Denver. It was a great time of focused learning and and sharpening with over 4,000 advisors.

They even squeezed in a Colorado Rockies game!

We are thrilled to announce that Sam Whelan has joined our team as a Financial Planning Analyst!

Sam was raised in East Lansing and has deep roots in the community. Before joining our team, he was on the underwriting team at Auto-Owners Insurance.

Sam has passed his securities exam and will work toward the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation over the next few years.

Sam and his wife Brittany live in Lansing and have three young children. Please join us in welcoming Sam to our team!

Last weekend, Maryann and her husband Matt watched their son Tom graduate from US Navy boot camp in Chicago. He has enlisted and plans to serve on a ship over the next several years.
