Happy Administrative Professional Day!!!
We are so grateful for our office staff. They are the backbone of Associates in Physical Therapy.
They handle a wide range of responsibilities, including scheduling appointments and meetings. They answer phone calls, manage emails, and they do so much more. They keep everything organized and running smoothly. Without their hard work and dedication, Associates in Physical Therapy would struggle to function efficiently.
So a big thank you to this incredible crew!!

Brendan Wilson who is an owner and physical therapist at Associates in Physical Therapy attended the girl's Eastmont AAU basketball practice to do an injury prevention training with the girls. He has a passion for working with athletes and helping them to be strong and successful.

Participating in sports is a wonderful way for kids to stay active, develop skills, and foster a competitive spirit. However, sports-related injuries can damper the fun and potentially sideline athletes for extended periods. While accidents can happen, integrating physical therapy into sports training programs can be just as crucial in injury prevention as it is in rehab.

The primary focus of physical therapy in injury prevention is to identify and address risk factors and imbalances that could lead to injuries.
The goal is to proactively enhance an athlete's physical condition, optimize movement patterns, and reduce the likelihood of injuries.

Associates in Physical Therapy is here for your athlete.

Meet Stephanie Karins.
(but you probably know her as Steph.)

Steph is one of our amazing physical therapist here at AIPT. She has been a PT for 10 years. She went to PT school at the University of Colorado and has worked in Colorado and Florida and then decided that Wenatchee is where she wanted to be. She has been with us at AIPT for 4 years.

Steph has taken a variety of courses ranging from ACL injury prevention to vestibular assessment and treatment. She enjoys treating a wide range of people and diagnoses because it keeps it interesting and rewarding for her. She treats a lot of spine, shoulder, and knee injuries.
Outside of work, you will find her at Cross Fit, snowboarding, hiking, and spending as much time as she can with her husband Casey, her 2-year-old son Mason and her dog Hazel.

Did you know that prior to Steph deciding that she wanted to be a PT she joined the Peace Corps as an education volunteer?.
She taught Chemistry, Biology (and by default English) in a remote village in southern Tanzania for 2 years and 3 months. She said “It was an amazing and challenging experience that really shaped who I am today and was part of what shifted my career path.”

AIPT is so lucky to have Stephanie.

We would like to introduce you to AIPT’s new ownership.
Danny Krueger, Justin Harris and Brendan Wilson.
These guys are incredible and are excited for what the future for AIPT holds.

With the changing of the seasons and the coming of spring, a new season is upon us. Its time to get those veggies and flowers planted, weeds pulled and shrubs trimmed. For many people this season can mark a big jump in the amount of daily physical activity they experience each day. This can lead to soreness, stiffness or even injury after gardening or other yard work activities. The following link is 7 tips to help avoid injuries with gardening and yard work.

For all who are working from a home-based office you may be missing your optimal ergonomic set up right about now.

Here are a few things to think about when setting up a home office:
- Monitor: The height is iimportant, but the depth is also important. If your screen is too far then you will inevitably lean in strain your neck over time. The depth should be about arms length from an UPRIGHT position.
- Keyboard and mouse: These should be at a height that allows your forearms to be parallel to the floor (not too high, not too low).
- Chair: Try to adjust chair height so that your hips are slightly higher than your knees. This will help keep your lower back from slouching.
- Documents: Use a document holder to keep papers upright while reading them (looking down too often will strain your neck.
