Our goal is to provide an affordable movie experience in a beautiful, comfortable place.

Effective September 3, 2020 the State Theatre Hutchinson is a First Run Theatre. The category of Second Run movies no longer exists, nor does it appear that they will be in the foreseeable future, if ever again. Our new pricing is every show before 6:00pm is $5.00 and every show after 6:00pm is $6.50. We will show many movies the first day available, and many others soon after. We will charge less

Ghostbusters Frozen Empire is currently on our screen

Last Saturday evening we were fortunate to have a Ghostbuster vehicle come visit us. There was a major traffic jam with people cruising by to get a look and take some pictures.

Thanks to Blaine Adams of Litchfield for bringing his vehicle, and all of his family to make the night a success

Twin Cities Live (KSTP channel 5) visited our theatre today. Reporter Kristin Haubrich and Photo Journalist Drew spent two totally enjoyable hours learning about the State. They will have 2 or 3 segments on their show this Friday March 10 between 3 and 4:30. If you miss it live it will be posted on their web site too.

Our Story

Kids 12 and under and seniors $3.00, adults $3.50, except Monday, then everyone is $3.00.

The State is a "Second Run Theater" -- Wait a few weeks and pay less than half of what First Run theaters charge..... and our concessions are less expensive also. Comfortable, beautiful state of the art Art Deco surroundings at an affordable price.
