Our founder, Janis Sawyer Legendre, passed away peacefully yesterday. She created our school in 1994. She did something right, because today we are the longest standing massage school in the state. Janis created a culture of connection at ITMS. Not only did she pave the way of legitimizing massage therapy as an industry, but she genuinely cared for every one of her students, instructors, and clients. Her ability to love, inspire, and empower those around her was unmatched. The impact she had was profound and her legacy will live on forever. ITMS will be hosting a memorial service in the future. We will post details for the event soon so stay tuned.

Day track students are playing around with cupping and myofascial decompression - one of many massage modalities. ITMS offers a long list of intro modality courses throughout our program in an attempt to expose our students to as much of the vast massage industry as possible. MTB Welcomes Kim Smith, Licensed Massage Therapist!

Kim has 20 years experience as a mental health counselor, providing talk therapy with individuals focused on mental health and substance abuse. Kim followed his call to incorporate a body centered approach to healing by attending Indiana Therapeutic Massage School. As a massage therapist he offers a calm, comforting demeanor with exceptional communication skills and an intuitive approach. He is a trauma sensitive practitioner with experience assisting individuals in regulating their nervous systems and fostering a mind-body connection. Kim is passionate about assisting others to release stored muscle tension, pain, and stuck emotions in the body.

Kim offers a combination of Swedish massage, therapeutic massage, trigger point release, and myofascial techniques to clients 18 years and older. Sessions are 60 minutes and are tailored to each person's individual needs.
