Yesterday, Kalamazoo Public Schools was happy to welcome a delegation of Palestinian educators to the district to talk about teaching English as a Second Language, assessments, and supports for immigrant families. The group was part of a Global Ties Kalamazoo, which promotes international understanding through professional exchange visits.

It’s that time of year in MI when teachers are responsible for testing our children to prove their "worth," as well as our own.

On May 3, 2022, the Kalamazoo community will have the opportunity to vote on a bond proposal. If voters approve this bond proposal, there is expected to be NO increase in the tax rate and would provide $197.1 million to fund capital improvements in our schools.

The bond would construct a new El Sol Elementary School in the Vine neighborhood. The new, state-of-the-art building will allow future generations of students to learn in an inspiring environment that prepares students for success beyond the classroom.

On May 3, 2022, the Kalamazoo community will have the opportunity to vote on a bond proposal. If voters approve this bond proposal, there is expected to be NO increase in the tax rate and would provide $197.1 million to fund capital improvements in our schools.

The bond would help improve some athletic facilities including turf fields at Kalamazoo Central and Loy Norrix high schools.
