Meet Scott Schroer!!

Scott Schroer is our Senior Credit Officer, a role he has filled since coming onboard in October of 2020. Scott came to us with many years of banking experience, which has served him very well in this role.
A couple things stand out to him when he thinks of what he likes best about working at KSB. One is the leadership culture. Management is approachable about anything, and Scott feels they genuinely care. The other is just the people in his department.
Scott calls Wooster his home, where he and his wife Karin are getting introduced to “empty-nest” living during the school year when their 2 daughters are away at college, one at Bowling Green, and the other at Slippery Rock.
If you know Scott well, you probably have observed the character trait of loyalty. One indicator of that is the fact that he and his 3 best friends (other than his wife) met in Junior High, and still get together at least once a year! That goes right along with a favorite quote of his, “It is better to have 1 true friend, than to be popular.”
Spending time with his family tops the list of things he enjoys doing in his time away from work, followed by playing golf, woodworking, reading, visiting Lincoln Way Vineyards, among other things. In fact, those things are so enjoyable, visions of retirement have come to mind! Eventually, he hopes a trip to Europe will be on his calendar.
Another source of enjoyment is being able to support organizations that truly make a difference in people’s lives, specifically Zion Lutheran Church, and the American Red Cross.
Scott, your way of sorting out what’s truly important is inspirational and serves you well in all spheres of life. We are glad that KSB has found a spot on your “important” list!

Meet Pam Glassford!
When you find something good, why change?! That must be Pam’s operating philosophy, as she has been with Killbuck Savings Bank almost 40 years!! She started as a Teller at the Main Office, serving in that role for 3 years. She is currently a Loan Operations Clerk at the Operations Center in Killbuck.
Her loyalty to the KSB team stems largely from her appreciation of the flexibility in working with her schedule to attend kids’ activities, etc. But the great group of people she works with and for play a big part as well. She calls the loan operations group her “work family.”
Pam has been blessed with a husband of 39 years (Greg), 4 grown children, her first grandchild on the way 😊, and three miniature schnauzers to round out their family. Her sister Deb is literally her best friend. They have been mistaken for twins (despite being 2 ½ years apart) and spend precious time together attending Christian concerts among other things. Pam says Deb has modeled for her how to be a loving and selfless grandma, something she aspires to be!
For enjoyment, a sure bet is just spending time with her husband and family. Other activities though are walking, riding bikes, and spending time with her church family at Killbuck Church of Christ.
One thing Pam would love to do is visit Israel and all the sites of the Bible times. Another is to take a cruise to Hawaii. She also says she is going to retire one of these days 😊 enabling more time to travel with her husband and family.
An organization Pam and Greg have come to love supporting is St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital due to their efforts in fighting childhood cancer.
As previous owners of a small business for 25 years (P&G IGA in Killbuck), they also have a heart for local businesses like Rodhe’s and Pizza Parlor, supporting them frequently, knowing the struggle of competing with larger big chain businesses.
A couple quotes have helped her weather most anything and provided a firm anchor. One is straight from scripture (Psalm 46:10), “Be still and know that I am God.” Another is basically just an application of that verse, “Faith isn’t about asking God to stop the storm, faith is about trusting God to help you through the storm.”
Pam, we are so thankful for your dedication over the years and are appreciative of however many more years you decide to give us!

Meet Dee Tish!

While Dee is relatively new to Killbuck Savings Bank, she has discovered the same “spark” that has kept a number of long-timers here for decades. That spark is a culture where employees are valued and appreciated, and their voices are heard and validated.
While she had plans in her teenage years of being a forensic anthropologist (study of bones), her life has taken her on a different path, where she feels she is meant to be. She is currently serving as an Internal Support Representative at our operations center. The position primarily serves our customers and branch staff in various areas, but Dee has grown in her role, with her primary focus now being on instances of fraud and errors.
Dee is part of a close-knit family that includes her husband of 11 years, whom she has known basically her whole life, and 2 kids aged 13 (Braxton) and 9 (Elaina). Growing up, family was just as important as she remembers spending countless hours with her grandpa at the roller-skating rink!
These days, just being outside gives her great enjoyment, but more specifically hunting, fishing, or swimming at the lake or creek. At this stage of life, being involved in her kids interests of 4-H, and shared interests of cooking, and baking takes high priority.
Eventually, Dee would like to go to New York City and visit as many museums as she possibly can, along with well-known markets like Chelsea Market, and Union Square’s Green Market. She does have an adventuresome side though, and eventually wants to skydive with one requirement, that her mother-in-law accompanies her, something they both have talked about for years.
To pay it forward, they love to support the Ronald McDonald House, an organization that has helped them tremendously in the past, and that they fully trust to make the most of every penny.
One principle that grounds Dee, is the belief that no matter how chaotic things may get at times, there is a plan and reason, and everything will always work out one way or another.
Dee, that confidence and assurance will get you far, and is just one reason we value you as part of the KSB team!

Meet Hanna Lowe, Teller, Millersburg North

Hanna is relatively new to Killbuck Savings Bank, starting in her role in November of 2022.
The thing she loves the most about working here is how fun the work environment is. “My co-workers make coming to work enjoyable.” She also loves being able to interact and build relationships with our customers. “I’ve met some amazing people while working here!”
When not spending time with her family, her favorite thing to do is play (and collect) video games, a hobby she has enjoyed since she was little. She has also recently gotten back into reading. One thing she would really love to do sometime is go somewhere to see the Northern Lights.
Although young, her life’s path has taken her to Washington State where she lived for a while. It was there she rescued an awesome dog “Tube Soxx” from a shelter. 😊 True to the common description of dogs as “man’s best friend” he has been exactly that for Hanna through some ups and downs over the last 4 years. Spending time with her mom and dad has also brought stability and enjoyment when away from work.
Her mom, Kristi Lowe works at the Danville branch. Hanna says, “thanks to her I’ve been able to meet so many wonderful people.” A random fun fact about Hanna is that she can say her ABC’s backwards as easily as she can forwards, also thanks to her mom 😊! Also like her mom, it appears she has found that positivity and cheerfulness are the best ways to approach the day. Hanna’s supervisor highlights that she is “a light-hearted, fun-loving part of the team!”
Hanna, we are glad you have chosen to start a career at Killbuck Savings Bank, and are looking forward to the contributions and influence you will likely have in years to come.

Meet Kristi Lowe, Head Teller, Danville

Kristi is one of many whose life circumstances have led to career adjustments. She originally began her career at Killbuck Savings Bank in the late 1990’s working mostly at the Millersburg South branch, floating some to Apple Valley and Danville as needed. She then switched gears to being a stay-at-home Mom and working at the local school. As circumstances changed again in January of 2021, she chose to pick up her career again with us, first at the main office in Killbuck, then moving to the Danville branch.
A social, talkative person, she loves the opportunity her current role gives in making a difference in people’s lives. Getting to know her customers is something she truly enjoys, and she can’t imagine not having her co-workers in her life as “they are truly my 2nd family.”
Her actual family consists of her husband Mark and daughter Hanna (also employed at KSB, Millersburg North 😊) A fun fact about her and Mark is that they met on a blind date over 34 years ago. Another fun fact about Kristi is that she can recite the alphabet backwards as well as she can forwards! Sounds like something to try the next time you are angry, to bring it under control.
Doing anything around water brings her enjoyment… kayaking, boating, just relaxing on the water. Away from the water though, you might find her taking her stresses out by playing Mario Kart, or Mario Party. Another source of enjoyment is combining her love of thrift shopping with supporting the actual causes the thrift stores represent, specifically Save & Serve in Millersburg, Mission Thrift in Wooster, and Risen Thrift in Danville.
Kristi doesn’t really have a bucket list. She just wants to enjoy life, laugh, and have fun with whatever she’s doing. Jokingly, 2 things came to mind: 1. To see bigfoot 2. To be debt-free 😊 She says, “I’ll let you decide which will happen first!”
Compatible with her cheerful demeanor is a quote from John Lennon that has become a favorite, “Everything will be okay in the end. If it’s not OK, it’s not the end.” Her application of that is that whether good or bad, everything will eventually work out and be ok. What a good anchor!
It’s that resolute attitude that enables her to consistently be a joy to her coworkers, and as her supervisor noted, to always be “willing to lend a hand and help out.”
Thank you, Kristi, for choosing to bring your joy back to the Killbuck Savings Bank family!
