Route 226 Children's Ministry

Refuel begins This Wednesday August 14th, from 6:30 – 7:15 pm. Spread the word, and have your kids invite their friends to join us as we learn and have fun. We will begin a 13-week study called Science and the Bible. Experimentation comes to us naturally. We start doing it before we can even talk. The Bible is full of experiments, from Adam and Eve’s experiment with sin to the story of a shepherd who experimented with leaving the flock. These "experiments" show us the natural consequences that we can expect to experience in our own lives if we repeat the same process. As we look at a few of these stories, we’ll run some of our own experiments and see what happens.

Registration is now open for rising pre-k through rising 6th graders. We will be diving deep into an amazing undersea adventure where we'll experience the ever-flowing, never-ending love of God.

Today was the 10th lesson in our Board Game series. We learned how greed and gluttony can get in the way with our relationship with God. If we are greedy, and don’t share and help others, we are not doing Gods work. We need to remember everything we have comes from God. We need to keep God first and think of others so that we can bless others with the blessings we have been given.

Join us March 24th for our Easter Egg Hunt!!!

Tonight we focused James 3:3-10 & Matthew 22:34-40. Our game of the night we related these verses to was Battleship. In the game we fire torpedoes at targets hoping to sink their ships. Just like in the game Battleship, gossiping, and bullying are all ways we fire hateful words. Our words can be just as damaging as torpedos are to ships. We also learn in the Bible verses how we can tame our tongue and spread love and kindness.

Night three of our Board Game series was a blast with three different connect four games

In connect four the object of the game is to connect four game pieces in a row. God wants us to connect people to him. He’s counting on us to connect our families, our friends, and our world to Jesus. But we must also connect to him ourselves if we want Jesus to work through us and connect to others. 

Our second lesson in our Board Game series was from Genesis 37:17b-35 Joseph sold into slavery. We learned about all the ups and downs Joseph endured. Through it all he never lost faith because he knew God was with him. The game Chutes and ladders you may get to go up the ladder towards a win, but hit the slide and have to go back down. Life is full of ups and downs, but God is always with us on good days and bad days.

We started a new 12 week series called Board Games. Tonight we learned how like in the game of chess, every game piece has a role to play. They must work together to win the game. Like Paul describes in 1 Corinthians 12 12-27 We are the body of Christ. Each of us is different, but we all have a part to play. We must learn to work together if we want to succeed.

Refuel was full of fun. Our lesson about king David and a prophet Nathan taught us about accountability, not being afraid, and trusting God. We played a game of helping a blindfolded friend put a puzzle together. Then we made glow in the dark signs to remind us to trust God when we’re afraid.
