We got to speak with students and parents about our Office’s mission and provided information on keeping kids safe on the Internet, social media and online gaming. Last Thursday, U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Kentucky staff had the opportunity to volunteer at God's Pantry Food Bank, one of our community partners in Lexington, to assist in sorting food donations and packing boxes of food to help feed Kentucky communities.

U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Kentucky was honored to have Claudia Love Mair, the Coordinator of the Kentucky Black Writers Collaborative at the Carnegie Center for Literacy & Learning, speak to our Office about Black Americans in literature and the arts. In addition to her role at the Carnegie Center, she is a published fiction writer, memoirist, and activist. Ms. Mair was a speaker as part of our 35th Annual African-American History Celebration, coordinated by our Black History Month Planning Committee.
