Cytomegalovirus or CMV, is a common virus that infects people of all ages. Did you know that over half of adults have been infected with CMV by age 40? Most people show no signs or symptoms, but the virus can have serious implications for newborns. 👶🏻👶🏾👶

🤰🏻When a baby is born with CMV infection, it is called congenital CMV. About one out of every 200 babies is born with congenital CMV and about one in five of these babies will have long-term health problems.

The Wisconsin Women’s Health Foundation (WWHF) is a nonprofit organization that since 1997 has been providing educational programming and outreach services for the health of Wisconsin women and their families. We have 3 statewide programs in all 72 Wisconsin counties, serving over 7,000 women each year. WWHF services and research initiatives are rooted in evidence-based prevention of the diseases and conditions that most impact Wisconsin women’s wellness.

Our mission is to INNOVATE, IMPACT, and IMPROVE women’s health, with additional goals to:

- Reach Wisconsin women with the information, opportunities and support they need to be healthy
- Encourage women to become advocates for their own health
-Improve the quality of life for women and their families

WWHF Programs:

GrapeVine: partners with nurse volunteers throughout the state to provide free women’s health education focused on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle change

Well Badger Resource Center: information & referral service that connects individuals to the community resources they need (WIC, BadgerCare Plus, services for children and youth with special health care needs, mental health, and more)
