The envelopes were all decorated by students at the John B. DeValles Elementary School in New Bedford and the William S. Greene Elementary School in Fall River.💌

UMass Dartmouth Commencement Speaker Gifts Each Grad $1000 UMass Dartmouth commencement speaker Rob Hale and his wife Karen gifted $1,000 cash to each graduating senior – with a stipulation.

The DeValles community wants to send a big thank you to the Chancellor’s office at UMASS Dartmouth and Storytime Crafts for working with us to replenish our lending library. Our students were ecstatic to see so many great books - many of which represented the beautiful cultures our families are from - and were excited to take them home to read. 📚 👩‍🏫 🧑🏾‍🏫 👨🏻‍🎓 🧑🏻‍🎓 Go Dragons! 🐉

On behalf of the entire DeValles community, we sincerely thank New Life Southcoast for their generosity. They held an incredible toy drive from 10am- 12pm right in our back yard! We are fortunate that over 100 students got an extra blessing this holiday season. There were many smiles today. Feel free to stop by between 11:30-12pm if you did not register. We look forward to this continued partnership!

In this literacy unit, kindergartners are learning about community. We’ve already had our NB fire fighters and police stop by for a special visit. Today, librarians from Casa da Saudade read to DeValles’ kindergartners 📚😊

Our students met with the architects today to give their design input for the new building. So creative!
