The Hospital of Central Connecticut recently recognized Erik Kastner, a colleague who sadly passed away earlier this year with the DAISY award. The award was accepted by his parents and children at a Celebration of Life ceremony.

This award is a recognition program to celebrate and recognize nurses by collecting nominations from patients, families, and co-workers.

The 37th Annual Swim Across the Sound is officially underway!
The event is state-wide for the second year, bringing swimmers from every corner of Connecticut and beyond, raising money for the Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute and the hospital of choice.

🎉 A huge congratulations to our incredible Project SEARCH interns! 🎉

Over the past nine months, these five dedicated individuals have each completed more than 1,000 volunteer hours across various hospital departments. Their hard work and commitment to learning job skills have been truly inspiring.

This year marks HOCC's first collaboration with CCARC and DDS to host the globally renowned Project SEARCH program. Through this partnership, we've had the privilege of training these amazing interns, preparing them for success in competitive integrated employment.

We're so proud of all you've achieved and can't wait to see what the future holds for each of you! 👏

After 42 years of framing our best moments at Hartford HealthCare, photographer Rusty Kimball retired on June 7. He was honored and celebrated by colleagues at the HOCC Auxiliary Golf Tournament and by friends and family on his final day.

With a keen eye and sharp focus, Rusty developed a career that always put colleagues and patients in the best light. His work was marked by resilience and compassion as a Vietnam veteran, heart surgery survivor and devoted parent.

We hope you have an amazing retirement Rusty!
