Our Story

Signature Psychiatric Hospital is a 72-bed behavioral health provider serving the adult population on two hospital campuses in Kansas City — NKC Hospital and Liberty Hospital. Our services are for treatment and stabilization of patients in crisis. Patients will be evaluated and treated by our team of psychiatrists, nurses, social workers and therapists.

Signature offers comprehensive behavioral healthcare and treats a wide variety of mental illnesses including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, suicidal or homicidal thoughts as well as medical detoxification from drugs and alcohol.

We offer three niche programs (1) our Valor Recovery program for veterans and first responders (2) our Silver Lining program for adults and seniors need inpatient treatment for mental health and (3) Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatment for adults seeking a non-invasive treatment for their depression.

At Signature we provide treatment that is both immediate and effective. Patients are seen by a psychiatrist upon admission, and in collaboration with our social workers and therapists, are given an individualized treatment plan to meet their specific needs.

We realize that the struggles of daily life can become overwhelming, and that most of the people we treat will need more than just medication to manage them. We offer a holistic approach that treats the mind, body, and spirit through programs like yoga, music, art, and recreational therapy. We want to give our patients hope and provide the tools, treatment, and resources necessary to ensure their success while they are in our facility as well as after they leave.

Signature also offers programs for patients transitioning back into the community who do not require the level of care that an inpatient stay may require.

Our Intensive Outpatient Program meets for three hours a day, three days a week. Our outpatient programs are conducted in North Kansas City, Liberty and Gladstone.
