Period access is a basic need, not a luxury! Montgomery County, PA is installing free period products in the bathrooms of all county-owned facilities free of charge. County properties include courthouses, health and human services buildings, historic sites, and county parks. Last week, CHDC attended the Boyertown Area School District Benefits & Wellness Expo to connect their employees and staff with our helpful resources. Our mission is to bridge gaps in health services, ensuring accessible care for all people regardless of insurance status. By sharing our resources, we're not only supporting BASD employees but their families and students for a healthy and happy new school year!

We wrapped up our National Health Center Week celebrations with our annual Community Health Fair at our Pottstown Coventry Mall location! It was a fun-filled afternoon with:

CHDC staff were honored to be joined by Rep. Joe Ciresi, Rep. Paul Friel, representatives of Rep. Madeleine Dean, NACHC Board Member Dr. Alli, and Rhonda Jackson, HRSA Philadelphia Office. Thank you to the Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities in partnership with Cradles to Crayons Philadelphia for donating 100 backpacks, Kri'zma Aquaries for painting faces, and Larry's Tropical Sno for providing a fun treat for attendees! We greatly appreciate our incredible staff, participating organizations, and generous sponsors for supporting us for yet another successful Health Fair.

Throughout the summer, CHDC joined the annual Play streets events, hosted by the Borough of Pottstown Parks and Recreation Dept. We enjoyed some warm summer nights connecting and playing with the Pottstown community. CHDC kicked off National Health Center Week by volunteering at Mission First Pottstown in honor of Healthcare for the Homeless Day on Monday, August 5th! Our dedicated team worked together to pack 100 bagged lunches for those in need. These lunches are available at the Mental Health Recovery Center, Street Medicine Outreach, and the outdoor refrigerator for anyone in the Pottstown community who needs one. We want to give a big thank you to Mission First for partnering with us and for CHDC staff who volunteered to support this great cause!

Interested in helping out? Throughout this week, we are collecting items to benefit the Street Medicine Program, which works to provide primary and urgent care to those experiencing homelessness in the Pottstown Borough. CHDC is officially open in Boyertown! 🥳🎉✂️ The TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce and their ambassadors along with Building a Better Boyertown performed a joint special ribbon-cutting ceremony to announce our grand opening. Our CHDC Board of Directors, CEO Bridgette McGivern, and staff were honored to be joined by Senator Tracy Pennycuick, who shares our vision for a healthier community, along with Boyertown Mayor Carnes and members from the BMBA - Berks-Mont Business Association. Also, we want to give a big thank you to Boy Scout, Daniel Kovach, for his assistance and representation, Brakeman's Cafe for the delicious catering, and to our CHDC mascot “DASH” for joining us. We're grateful for the warm welcome to the community!

Following the ceremony, our guests took a tour of the office, which currently offers pediatric and women's health/GYN services. Since 2008, we've been dedicated to providing affordable, high-quality healthcare and we're honored to now be a part of Boyertown.
