As more flooding is predicted for the next several days, here’s a compilation of some local flood resources. (It’s my understanding that it continues to be updated.)

Piper hopes you like the box—I mean books as much as she does.

Some of you may have noticed that we’re revamping our bookcase at the clinic. Piper was very excited to help with explor—I mean *unboxing* box one. 😉

So much love for you all! It’s a wild to think that five years ago I started Compass Chiropractic, and now we own our own space, we’re a team of three and (thanks to you!) we’re a Seven Daysies finalist! It takes a lot of love for a small clinic like ours to get enough votes to make it to the finals…so THANK YOU. I thought of you all last night at the Seven Daysies party - so great to congratulate my former boss Dr. Laura Ramirez on her win, and celebrate with our own Taylor on our dojo’s win as well! (And check out the Mo Willems art on display at the Echo!) 💛 to all!

While we are grateful to report that the building is fine, COMPASS CHIROPRACTIC IS CLOSED TODAY 7/11/24 DUE TO WIDESPREAD ROAD CLOSURES AND FLOODING. Stay safe! We hope to reopen tomorrow and will have potable water should anyone need it.

Final Days for Seven Daysies - Thanks For Voting!

Once again, we wanted to offer a huge and humble THANK YOU for everyone who nominated us for Best Chiropractic Practice in the Seven Daysies, and to everyone who has voted in the final round.

Voting ends this weekend, so we’re down to the final days to vote! It would mean the world to us if you would take a moment to vote in the finals for your favorite local businesses. For a lot of us small business owners, word of mouth like the Seven Daysies makes a big difference - and you can, too by voting here:
https://ballot.sevendaysvt.com/services/best-chiropractic-practice

At Compass we’re excited to share the Finalist spotlight with (and have shown our voting support for) some of our local favorites, such as:
- Sweet Simone's
- Villari's Vermont
- Vermont Symphony Orchestra & Vermont Youth Orchestra
- New England Auto
- Birchgrove Bakery

The beauty of Vermont isn’t just in its nature - it’s in the nature of its people and communities. Thanks for being part of our community, and for showing some Seven Daysies love!

Seven Daysies Ballot 2024 05/29/2024

WOW. I wish you could've heard how much cheering there was between Taylor, Dr. Nicole and I when the Seven Daysies Finalists were announced. (I may have squeaked...and jumped. A little. Or a lot? Definitely a lot.)

We were so moved and proud to have made it into the finals of the Seven Daysies, and we would be OVER THE MOON IF YOU TOOK A MOMENT TO VOTE FOR US in the finals.

And remember, anyone can vote no matter where they live, so feel free to pass the link along!

Seven Daysies Ballot 2024 Vote for your favorite Vermont businesses, people and places now through June 9, 2024.

You know I can’t resist a bad pun! But seriously, we’re facing an emergency blood shortage right now, and what better way is there to show love this February than by saving a few lives (and eating some cookies)? So come on, drink some water, roll up your sleeves, and let’s donate some blood together! ❤️

I’m so excited to share my exciting news and announce that Dr. Nicole Bonneau Lee is joining Compass Chiropractic! (Spoiler alert: I think you’re going to love her.)

From our very first conversation, Dr. Nicole felt like we had been friends for forever, the patients who’ve already met her have had nothing but great things to say, and I can’t wait for you to meet her, too.

Like me, Dr. Nicole is a native Vermonter who returned home to practice. She is an avid gardener and bookworm (are you seeing why we get along?), as well as an athlete and mom.

With over six years in practice, Dr. Nicole specializes in pelvic, pediatric and prenatal care, and loves all things low back pain related. She also has advanced training with the activator (aka “the clicker”), which means that her adjustments are both thorough and effective, as well as gentle when necessary. That’s right, we can do a little good cop, bad cop routine, if need be. (I’ll let you guess which one I am, haha.)

Dr. Nicole is taking on new patients, accepts insurance, and her schedule is now open!

Welcome to our crazy, wonderful little clinic, Dr. Nicole! We hope to see everybody soon!

Thanks for your concern, everyone! Looks like we got about a foot less water than this spring, so we fared ok again. That said, Compass is OPEN today. We have verified that the roads around the clinic including Exit 11 and Route 2 are open and dry, but there are some road closures affecting Richmond (attached). Hoping our community has fared as well as we have. 🩵

While our building remains unharmed, due to widespread flooding and road closures, Compass Chiropractic is CLOSED today 7/11/23. We are hoping to resume seeing patients on Thursday, but at this point 89 Exit 11 southbound at Route 2 is under several feet of water and will have to be cleared for access to the building. (RICHMOND: unsurprisingly but very importantly, there is a boil notice in effect for town water.) Stay safe & we’ll see you soon!

With respect and remembrance, we are closed for Memorial Day. We’ll be back in the clinic for normal business hours tomorrow.

Honored and thrilled to have been a part of the University of Vermont Integrative Pain Management Conference today - to be surrounded by such amazing colleagues and amongst such top tier speakers was both humbling and exciting. But...try not to be too jealous...I'm the only speaker whose room faced the quad and therefore got a live rock soundtrack to their presentation. 😉 Because the only thing better than neurology...is hard rock neuro. 🤣

But seriously: an amazing and inspiring day - thank you to all who were a part of it. Chiropractic Vermont Chiropractic Association

This Vets Town Hall is being moderated by one of my very favorite people - I think everyone should hear him speak. Swing by South Burlington today if you’re able - you won’t regret it.

If you're in the Burlington-area, could you share this Saturday's event on your local Front Porch Forum calendar? We've heard from lots of folks that this is a great way to get the word out about events - and we need your help to make sure we reach as many local FPFs as possible! Here's an event description you can copy/paste:

South Burlington Public Library will be hosting a day of events inviting community members to get to know local veterans, including:

There and Back: The Veterans' Journey: 11am
For people who have never experienced military life, books and movies provide the lens for going to war. Today, Veterans who have served in several wars, some in combat, others not, will join moderator Bob Stock, from the South Burlington Vet Center, to share their experiences. What formed our warriors? What led them to serve? How were they trained? How did they handle reentry and building a life afterwards? The panelists reflect the diversity of service members, and their experiences reflect the changes in our military over decades.

Vets Town Hall: 1pm
It takes courage to stand up and speak. Veterans of any era who served in any capacity are invited to stand before their community and speak for up to then minutes about what it was like to serve their country.

It also takes courage to sit down and listen. Non-veterans are encouraged to attend and listen. There will be no debate about American foreign policy, simply listening. A moderated Q&A will follow the presentations. Bring your questions and get to know your Veterans!

The Town Hall will be moderated by Nic Thornbro from Vermont Veterans Outreach Program.

Parking is free. The Library is ADA accessible. Please call 802-846-4140 to request additional services.

Between this view and these patients, I might be the luckiest chiropractor ever.

Just have to give a shout out to Taylor - now a Master rank in Shaolin Kempo Karate - and all the others who tested this weekend. What an amazing community! 🖤

Contain and Eliminate: Chiropractic's Scary Past and Promising Future with Dr. Louis Sportelli 10/18/2022

Every time I teach, I make sure to educate people about this. There is a reason that your chiropractic coverage is limited, and it starts in 1847 with the formation of the American Medical Association, which documented that its early efforts were in in besmirching competing healing practices, labeling them “pseudoscience” and “quack remedies”.

Contain and Eliminate: Chiropractic's Scary Past and Promising Future with Dr. Louis Sportelli Today's episode takes a careful look at the very scary past, the positive present and the hopeful future of chiropractic and healthcare in America. Less than...

It’s been a long road back from Covid - hard to believe it’s only been a week! Thank you all for your patience and understanding as I recover! As soon as I can stay awake for more than three hours in a row, I’ll be back in the clinic! And until then…this lil buddy is helping my channel my inner cat and take allllll the naps…

Asking for your patience this week as our response times may be slower than usual since Dr. Sarah and Taylor are both out of the office on different days.
