Sarasota Military Academy becomes the first ‘Leader In Me’ school in the county Sarasota Military Academy has announced the integration of Leader In Me at SMA Prep Middle School, making it the only Sarasota County Leader In Me school.

HONORING D-DAY: A LEGACY OF BRAVERY AND SACRIFICE

Today, we honor the brave souls who changed the course of history on D-Day, June 6, 1944. On this day 80 years ago, Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy, France, in a courageous effort to liberate Europe from the grip of N**i tyranny during World War II.

D-Day marked a pivotal moment in the war, symbolizing the resilience, sacrifice, and unity of nations united against oppression. Thousands of Allied soldiers from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and other nations bravely faced unimaginable odds to secure freedom for future generations.

Their unwavering courage and sacrifice serve as a poignant reminder of the immense price of freedom and the enduring power of hope in the face of darkness. Today, we honor their legacy and express our deepest gratitude to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for liberty.

On this Memorial Day, we gather to honor the ultimate sacrifice made by our fallen heroes. SMA cadets in grades 6-12, their families, alumni, staff, and board members stand together in remembrance of those who have given their lives for our freedoms during the Memorial Day Parade in Downtown Sarasota.

We recognize that our liberty comes at a great cost and are committed to upholding the values of respect, honor, and integrity. As we pay tribute to these brave individuals, we reaffirm our dedication to the pursuit of happiness and the freedoms they fought to protect.

Thank you to all for joining us in this solemn remembrance and for carrying forward the legacy of those who have served.

A big THANK YOU goes out to the leadership at McDonald's, including our very own SMA Alumni Mark Turner, for generously supporting our cadets' achievements this morning by providing breakfast for those testing!
