Prayers ascend for LCMS Air Force Chaplain Kurtis Bueltmann as he serves Airmen during an overseas deployment. May our gracious Lord protect him, his family who remains stateside and those he is serving.

We're having a great time at Higher Things in Arkansas. In the first photo, our Assistant Director Chaplain Steven Hokana is with a great "Centurion of Faith," Chaplain Isaac Wirtz of the Arizona National Guard. Chaplain Wirtz brought his youth to Higher Things. In the second, Luther Rose magnets adorn Chaplain Hokana's Roman helmet, courtesy of youth in attendance.

LCMS Navy Chaplain Gregory Todd, Chief of Navy Chaplains, joined other Navy leaders in welcoming home the Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group from deployment. May our victorious Savior be with these Sailors as they transition home.

LCMS Chaplains Gerald Heinecke and Chaplain David Witte served soldiers from the 87th Brigade during Army National Guard Training at Fort Chaffee. They offered Bible Study on the Book of Acts, led Matins with the help of music from Substitute Organ Service (SOS) donated by Church Music Solutions, and boosted morale by delivering popsicles in 100 degree heat. May our Heavenly Father send His angels to protect these soldiers during their training.

Chaplain Steven Hokana, Ministry to the Armed Forces Assistant Director, was glad to be with LWML Nebraska North this weekend. These faithful women do so much to encourage our ministry and support our brave service members. 🇺🇸

We were grateful to be among 1,000+ teens this week at Concordia University Wisconsin for Higher Things. Our Director, Chaplain Craig Muehler, led a breakout session and we handed out a lot of devotions and giveaways. May God be with these young people as they return to their parishes and communities.

Today on National PTSD Awareness Day we lift up in prayer those struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder and other mental health challenges. May our Heavenly Father give them peace, courage, strengthened relationships and an abundance of forgiveness only possible through Christ's precious love.

Happy Birthday Coast Guard Auxiliary! The Coast Guard Auxiliary traces its history to this date in 1939 when Congress authorized civilians to promote safety on the high seas and navigable waters. Did you know we have men serving as LCMS Coast Guard Auxiliary Chaplains? Serving military members as a chaplain doesn't always mean giving up a full-time parish, taking PT tests and spending lengthly deployments away from family. LCMS Navy Chaplain Merlin Stephan had the joy of delivering a Chaplain presentation to the Vacation Bible School Students and Staff at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ferrin, Illinois this weekend. They were focusing on Ephesians 6:10-18, the full armor of God. He wrote, "Thank you for the invitation, and thank you for the bags of treats and personal care items for my Marines!"

Chaplain Stephan, thank you for sharing and your faithful service to Christ and Country.

LCMS Chaplain Travis Ferguson is on his two-week annual tour and an Innovative Readiness Training Mission where no-cost medical services are offered by DoD personnel to those in need. May our Heavenly Father keep Chaplain Ferguson and the hundreds of troops he is serving safe during this time of training.

LCMS Illinois National Guard Chaplain Justin Cullen leads field service at Camp Atterbury in the heat. May our Risen Savior preserve our Chaplains and all service members doing their required annual trainings this summer.

Happy birthday to the U.S. Army, established on this date in 1775 - even before the Declaration of Independence was signed. Thank you to all who serve in this branch of the military.

Congratulations to LCMS Chaplain Michael Kearney who graduated from the U.S. Army Chaplain Career Course on June 6th. He now heads to his new unit at Fort Campbell. God’s blessings on your transition to your new position.

Last week LCMS Air National Guard Chaplain Chad Boggs gave a Memorial Day address during a program held at Prospect Cemetery in Pierce, Nebraska. Chaplain Boggs also serves as the pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Tilden, NE and St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Meadow Grove, NE.

Our LCMS Chaplains are serving around the globe! 🌏 Navy Chaplain Ross Engel, deployed as part of Marine Rotational Force Darwin (MRF-D), participated in a Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief exercise in Papua New Guinea earlier this month. While in country, he organized the first Religious Key Leader Engagement in the 13-year history of MRF-D and met with Papua New Guinea Defence Force Chaplain Benstead Bareta to discuss religious practices in their forces, the intersection of faith, politics, and culture, and Chaplain competencies and training. Chaplain Engel also organized coordinated rugby and soccer games with a local school.
