Today we bid farewell to Dr. Lauren Zabaleta, an extraordinary doctor who will now join the prestigious ranks of faculty at Marshall B Ketchum School of Optometry. We could not be prouder of her as she embarks on the next chapter of her career. She will be greatly missed at All EyeCare Optometry.

All EyeCare is more than just eyes, it is about impacting the lives of all those who come through our doors. Our team is a vital part of who we are and character is the number one hiring criteria. It has been a privilege to be a part of so many lives that have passed through our office.

Thank you Dr. Zabaleta for your dedication, commitment and passion to the profession. Thank you for your time at our office. The students at Marshall B Ketchum will be lucky to have you as their mentor!

At AECO, we’ve been blessed with the ability to be a part of the lives of so many people. Our team has always consisted of students and future professionals. We have had the fortune of seeing high school students graduate, become doctors, pursue business degrees, grow up and start their own families. We pride ourselves on having a team that strives for more. We encourage our team to want more and are thankful that we can be a stepping stone in their future.

Yesterday, we said farewell to Destiny who joined us last year and is now pursuing her future career in the dental field. She was a loved individual at the office and one of the sweetest. We are so proud of you and all that you have achieved and are going to achieve!

If you have visited our office recently, you may have noticed a new addition to our patio area! We have launched an outdoor public neighborhood library for kids. The concept is simple - take a book, leave a book, and when returning the book, write a positive message on the inside cover for the next person. We believe that fostering a love for reading at an early age is important for a child's development, and we hope that this initiative will help achieve that. We have a wide variety of books available, from children's picture books to young adult novels.

We are also looking for donations of more books for children and young teens! If you would like to pay it forwards, bring in a copy of your favorite children's book signed with a positive message. We hope to continue to spread positivity in our community!

Congratulations to Dr. Kyle McCarthy who has now assumed ownership of Camarillo All EyeCare Optometry under the new name of Las Posas Optometry. We are proud of Dr. McCarthy and confident that the office will continue to provide top-notch care to the community in Camarillo!

Congratulations to Dr. Lauren Zabaleta who was appointed a Fellow in The American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) at the Academy’s Centennial Meeting this past weekend in San Diego! This honor is held by only ten percent of practicing optometrists. Founded in 1922, the Academy’s mission is to promote the art and science of vision care through lifelong learning. Academy Fellows are held to the highest ethical and professional standards of practice. We are proud to have such an outstanding clinician join our team at All EyeCare Optometry!

Welcome Dr. Lauren Zabaleta to All EyeCare Optometry!

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Health and Society from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. A Southern California native, she returned home to complete her doctorate degree at the Southern California College of Optometry where she graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors.

During her externship rotations, she gained invaluable experience treating and managing ocular disease in patients of all ages at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Santa Fe Indian Hospital, and the Las Vegas Veterans Affairs Hospital.

Following graduation, Dr. Zabaleta completed an additional year of training with a Residency in Cornea and Contact Lenses at the Southern California College of Optometry. She specializes in the fitting of soft and rigid contact lenses for patients with post-surgical corneas and corneal diseases such as keratoconus and pellucid marginal degeneration.

In observance of Memorial Day, we will be closed Monday May 30th, 2022. We will re-open on Tuesday.

DID YOU KNOW?

Three years after the Civil War ended, on May 5, 1868, Memorial Day, (originally referred to as Decoration Day) was declared a time for the nation to decorate the graves of the war dead with flowers. It is believed that May 30 was the date chosen because flowers would be in bloom all over the country. It became an official federal holiday in 1971 and placed on the last Monday in May.

Getting to know Dr. Zabaleta
We are excited to introduce Dr. Lauren Zabaleta to our team at All EyeCare Optometry. Dr. Zabaleta’s passion for optometry began when she was prescribed her first pair of glasses in the sixth grade. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Health and Society from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. A Southern California native, she returned home to complete her doctorate degree at the Southern California College of Optometry where she graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors. Dr. Zabaleta maintains an active role in the optometric community with her membership in the American Optometric Association and the California Optometric Association. She has also presented Case Reports at National Optometric Meetings, given Continuing Education lectures to other practicing optometrists, and served as a guest lecturer and clinical instructor to optometry students. During optometry school, she was recognized as the top graduating clinician with the Dr. Morris Berman Clinical Excellence Award.

We at All EyeCare Optometry are so blessed to bring such a passionate, bright and caring doctor on board our team. Stay tuned for a meet and greet event in August where we can officially welcome Dr. Zabaleta onboard!

September marks All EyeCare Optometry’s annual meeting! It is a time where we shut down for the day to learn and improve our practice and invest in our team. Learning is a lifelong journey that our team is committed to daily.

Thanks to Ron Zepeda and Dr. Asha Bala for stopping by to discuss improving care delivery between our offices. Despite your busy schedule at DLV, your commitment to excellence leaves us confident that our patients’ vision are always in the best hands!

This new piece hangs on the wall in our office to remind us to dare to be great, mediocrity is unacceptable and excellence is only achieved with failure.
