Grand Traverse County reports first case of community acquired transmission
The Grand Traverse County Health Department announces two additional positive COVID-19 cases, bringing the countywide total to seven. Among the two latest cases, community acquired transmission was determined to be a factor in one case.
The first case is a female in her 70s, with no history of travel outside of the region. After a thorough case investigation by the Grand Traverse County Health Department, it was determined there was no distinguishable exposure to a positive COVID-19 case. Therefore, the investigation indicates this is community acquired transmission. She is currently hospitalized.
"We have identified our first case of clear community acquired transmission, which we anticipated would happen eventually. It reaffirms that everyone who is not deemed an essential worker should be staying at home to reduce further community transmission, “said Dr. Michael Collins, Grand Traverse County Health Department, Medical Director.
The second case is a female in her 20s with a history of domestic travel from a high community wide transmission area. She has been self-quarantined during her incubation period and prior to the onset of symptoms. She continues to recover in quarantine.
As the number of cases increases within Grand Traverse County and with the knowledge that there is community spread happening, this reinforces the social distancing message of Stay Home, Stay Safe, Save Lives.

Grand Traverse County Health Department COVID-19 Update Location Information
The Grand Traverse County Health Department wants to make the public aware of two locations that a recently confirmed positive COVID-19 case was present at while symptomatic. Following the public health case investigation, it was discovered that there is possibility for community exposure. Please see locations below.
If you were on Delta Flight DL4991 departing from Detroit Metro Airport and landing at Cherry Capital Airport on Monday, March 16th, 2020, you may have been exposed to COVID-19. You should self-quarantine until Monday, March 30th, 2020. If you experiencing COVID-19 type symptoms (fever, cough, body aches, shortness of breath), contact your healthcare provider.
If you were at Target (3130 W South Airport Rd W, Traverse City, MI 49684) on Sunday, March 22nd, 2020 from 5:00pm-6:00pm, you should self-monitor for COVID-19 type symptoms (fever, cough, body aches, shortness of breath). If you start experiencing symptoms, contact your healthcare provider.
“Community exposure is a worst-case scenario when conducting case investigations at the health department as it increases the potential for community transmission. We need the community to take the guidance and directives put forth by us and the Governor seriously. If you are sick, stay home. If you are not conducting essential business in the community, stay home. We will undoubtedly see a toll on our Northern Michigan healthcare systems if people do not comply with the Governor’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” Executive Order,” said Wendy Hirschenberger, Grand Traverse County Health Department’s Health Officer.

He is not getting obese.
Healthy people are not necessary or useful to the economy. They are not buying the medicine. They dont go to hospitals or doctors.
They add nothing to the country's GDP.

Choose wisely: a bike or a McDonald's? It's something to think about.

On November 3, 2021, the Michigan Catastrophic Claims Association (MCCA) Board voted unanimously to
return approximately $3.0 billion of its estimated surplus to its member insurance companies. Bulletin 2021-
44-INS was issued to provide guidance on the handling of the refunds. The Bulletin states the MCCA has
initiated the processes for liquidating securities and processing the return of the designated surplus to its
insurer member companies on or before March 9, 2022. The Bulletin further indicates insurers are
expected to issue refunds to policyholders of policies that were in-force as of 11:59 p.m. on October 31,
2021, Eastern Standard Time.
