IBM is a pillar of innovation in our community, shaping the future since developing a first-of-its-kind tech campus in 1978 as the IBM Storage Development Division. When the campus was acquired by the University of Arizona in 1994, IBM remained a dedicated tenant, contributing to the establishment of the UA Tech Park. This year marks 46 years of IBM's presence in Tucson and 30 years of a successful partnership with the UA Tech Park. Recognized as the nation's most innovative company, IBM continues to lead with a record-breaking number of patents.

As part of our tenant anniversary series, we are featuring Eurofins CellTx, a leader in human tissue diagnostics. Eurofins CellTx, a unit of international bioscience giant Eurofins Scientific, launched its state-of-the-art laboratory at the UA Tech Park in January 2023 and just announced expansion of their microbiology capabilities starting the first part of September 2024. This FDA-registered lab screens human cells, tissues, and cellular- and tissue-based products, focusing on stem cells, bone marrow, cord blood, perinatal tissue, and reproductive donations. The lab plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety of donated tissues for various applications, including cancer and autoimmune therapies, regenerative medicine and IVF. Eurofins CellTx has significantly expanded since launching the lab over a year, providing testing for thousands of donors across the US and over 60 countries.

iCRx, a leader in eye care innovation through optic technology, announced today its move to the University of Arizona (UA) Tech Park. Their new facility includes office and laboratory space that enable cutting-edge optical research. This announcement is a milestone for the Tucson-based company as it prepares to unveil its groundbreaking One-Minute Eye Exam technology. The One-Minute Eye Exam was invented based on The University of Arizona research developed at The University of Arizona Wyant College of Optical Sciences and licensed through Tech Launch Arizona. iCRx received funding from Tucson’s UA Venture Capital to develop the technology.
