Inasal dish of prime chicken cuts marinated in choice herbs and spices, skewered on bamboo sticks, then basted with achuete oil and grilled, has always been a beloved Ilonggo cuisine. When the Spaniards discovered this mouthwatering dish, they assumed the chicken was roasted. “Asar” in Spanish. The natives adopted the verb but could not pronounce the hard “r” at the end. Hence, Chicken “Inasal” was born. . Lightly tripping of your tongue and taste-buds.
