A partnership between the Library, Arts & Humanities, the NYUAD Institute and the Humanities Research Fellowships for the Study of the Arab World, the WIDH brought together over 60 students and instructors from around the world to engage in an in-depth exploration of how the digital has changed and continues to change, the way that we learn, teach, do research and disseminate knowledge. The WIDH featured hands-on courses on topics ranging from Digital History, (co-taught by our very own Nick Wolf), Computing Culture: An Introduction to Applied Methods in Data and Cultural Heritage, Sonic Methods for Research and Pedagogy, Arabic Digital Humanities and more.

Did you know NYUAD's Special Collections Department has a new exhibition? Come check it out in the Library!

Frauke Heard-Bey and David Heard have gathered numerous historical publications and documents about the UAE for nearly 60 years now. Since 2018, they have generously donated many of these materials to the NYU Abu Dhabi Library's Archives and Special Collections department, where they now comprise the Frauke Heard-Bey and David Heard Collection (MC.064), the largest single collection in the department, occupying over 70 linear feet (21 linear meters) of shelving space.

The three display cases in the Library entrance present selected publications and documents grouped into three themes: early days of the UAE, the oil industry in Abu Dhabi, and cultural and social life in this city.
