Did you know that Trader Vic’s is home of the original Mai Tai? The story goes that in 1944, the Trader tested a new drink on friends from Tahiti. After their first sip, they immediately exclaimed, “It’s Mai Tai Roa Ae!” (Tahitian for “Out of this world- The Best”), and the first Mai Tai was born- Paradise in a Glass.
