But for some reason, God thinks this is not enough. Why?
Because Church is God’s idea. Not mine or yours. But His. For during Pentecost, the Holy Spirit birthed the Church.
Two thousand years later, we’re still doing this.

Growing in discernment has a long, deep, and rich tradition in the Catholic Church. The spiritual practices of St. Ignatius of Loyola are the most well-known. It was created by him almost 400 years ago, and stood the test of time.
Identifying what originates from God and what doesn't is one of the main goals of spiritual exercises. Is this your own will or God's Will? Or even worse, the enemy's will?
Many modern people nowadays have very little experience with this kind of thinking. People only consider one factor while making decisions: "What is best for me?” Although reasonable, it’s a bit immature. ‘Cos a 3-year-old toddler already thinks like this.
But the ancient text we're examining for 8 weeks now encourages us to consider a simple but important question when making choices: "What does God want for my life?”
We delve deeply into this question as we conclude "Wilderness", our series on the Book of Numbers.

We live in a world where bad things happen to good people. Sometimes, a lot of bad things. Sometimes, bad things happen even before we’re born. The bad things are waiting for us. How cruel is that? 😭
These are hard questions to answer. But we take comfort in three things—That when bad things happen, we know, and declare, that GOD IS STILL IN CHARGE; GOD IS STILL GOOD; and GOD WILL TURN CURSES INTO BLESSINGS. ☝️🙏
This Sunday, we will learn how God turns curses into blessings. 👏
And we’ll also tackle one of the craziest stories in Numbers. So insane, in fact, we’ll meet a talking donkey. 🤪

So it’s really true, the distance from Egypt to Canaan is an 11-day hike, not a 40-year generational journey. This Sunday, at The Feast, we’ll learn why it became insanely long.
