Stretching for Physical Tissue Stress
When the body is stressed, muscles tense up. Muscle tension is almost a reflex reaction to stress the body’s way of protecting you against injury and pain. With sudden onset stress, the muscles tense up all at once, and then release their tension when the stress passes. Long term stress causes the muscles in the body to be in a constant state of overprotectiveness.
 
And when muscles are tight and tense for long periods of time, this trigger other reactions of the body creating stress-related disorders. For example, both tension headaches and migraine headache are associated with long term muscle tension in the area of the shoulders, neck and head. Lower back pain and upper body pain has also been linked to stress, especially job stress.
 
Muscle tension, which later leads to losing the size of muscles due to overprotecting the body, promote chronic, stress-related musculoskeletal conditions. Our stretching techniques offers stress-relieving aftereffects to effectively reduce specific muscle tension, decrease the incidence of certain stress-related disorders, such as headache, and increase a sense of well-being. For those who develop chronic pain conditions, stress-relieving activities such as stretching helps hugely by improving mood and daily function.

How stretching helps condition the muscles:
 
Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints. Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage.
 
For instance, being seated all day results in tight hamstrings in the back of the thigh. That makes it harder to extend your leg or straighten your knee all the way, which makes walking a problem. Likewise, when tight muscles are suddenly called on for a strenuous activity that stretches them, such as playing tennis, they may become damaged from suddenly being moved. Injured muscles may not be strong enough to support the joints, which can lead to joint injury.
 
Therefore regular, stretching improves muscles’ length, keeps them lean, and increase flexibility, that will prevent too much force on the muscles when moving. Healthy muscles also help a person with balance problems to avoid falls as we move in our day to day activities.

HOW DOES PROPER STRETCHING IMPROVE POSTURE?
