Green Apple Approaches
Green Apple approaches are the most demanding and most important sector, particularly in Afghanistan. The majority of Afghans’ lives are dependent on agriculture. However, the agriculture sector is still run with traditional techniques that result in low harvest rates. The primary issues in Afghanistan are the seeds and application of proper cultivation techniques and irrigation methods. Additionally, the use of chemicals is part of the daily life for most people while organic production and organic harvest has better markets for the yields. Although there have been efforts to offer different agriculture services to local farmers, the demand for solutions is higher than the responded efforts. Using VS with its agriculture team undermines the following services:
Extension Approaches (Farmers Field Schools “FFS”)
Integrated Crop Management and Integrated Pest Management (ICP and IPM)
Orchard Management (Focus on Apple, Almonds and pistachios)
Trials and Studies
Local Vegetable Oil Production
Cold Storage Techniques
