Inter-Species Relationships in Posthumanist Thought

In this upcoming workshop, we explore how humans are constantly and inevitably entangled with the more-than-human. Our international group of speakers will reflect on microbes, sympoiesis, the biology of subjects, planetary animals, oceans and posthuman semiosis.

Forschen für die Solare Energiewende Der Traum von der künstlichen Photosynthese: Forschende der Uni Wien möchten die Energie der Sonne einfangen, in chemischen Verbindungen speichern und so die solare Energiewende vorantreiben. Wie das funktionieren kann und warum Computersimulationen dabei unentbehrlich sind.

Die Erde ausbeuten – aber nachhaltig? Der Stoff, aus dem die fossilfreie Zukunft ist, kommt aus der Erde. Bergbau im Zeichen der Nachhaltigkeit – ist das nicht ein Widerspruch?

📌 Peter Schweitzer and Olga Povoroznyuk will convene a panel discussion on “Arctic Futures: Local Visions and Global Projections” (5.15).
📌 The panel “Can Infrastructure Contribute to Sustainability? The Built Environment and Arctic Communities” (4.1.8 ) will be led by Ria-Maria Adams and Alexandra Meyer.
📌 Timothy Heleniak will host the panel on “Transport infrastructure and population in the Arctic” (5.11).

Schlechte Nachrichten für : 87 Prozent der Österreicher:innen haben wenig Erwartungen an die Klimakonferenz 😒 Trotzdem finden 63%, dass es mehr Maßnahmen gegen den Klimawandel geben sollte. Das zeigt eine Sonderauswertung des "Wissenschaftsbarometers 2023" der ÖAW.
