On June 22, the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna successfully held the third Chinese Proficiency Test in 2024. A total of 47 candidates took the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) from Levels 1 to 6 and 3 candidates took the HSK Speaking Test.

On June 21, the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna held a language partner activity with the theme "When I have stress, I will...". A total of 12 people participated.

The Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna will continue to hold the various language partner activities next semester. The poster will be published at the beginning of next semester and everyone is welcome to sign up.

On June 14, the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna held a cultural experience workshop with the theme of “Chinese knot”, with a total of 9 cultural enthusiasts participating.

The institute will continue to hold various workshops next semester, and Chinese culture enthusiasts are welcomed to actively participate.We will release the poster at beginning of next semester.

On June 11, the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna held a concert themed "For Peace" at Glaserner Saal of Wiener Musikverein. The concert was supported by the Vienna City Government and the Federal Chancellery. About 150 guests and audiences attended the event.

As a "Cultural Pilot Confucius Institute", the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna will continue to feature "Music and Literature" to build a bridge of cultural exchange between China and Austria and promote communication and cooperation between the peoples of the two countries.

On May 25, the finals of the 23rd "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students and the 17th "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students in Austria were held at the Alte Kapelle of the University of Vienna.

Three contestants from the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna participated in the competition. Among this three, Félix Sturmayr won the first prize and Daniel Gombos won the second prize in the university group, and Piskic Charlotte won the first prize in the secondary school group.

Contestants from the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna have won the championship in both groups of this competition for two consecutive years.

On May 24, the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna held a language partner activity with the theme "When I feel uncomfortable, I will...". A total of 8 people participated, including 4 Chinese learners and 4 German learners.
The Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna plans to hold the last language partner activity of this semester from 16:30 to 17:30 on June 21, 2024. Please see the poster below for the event information. Everyone is welcome to sign up.

On May 16, Dr. Martin Krott was invited by the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna to give an academic lecture titled "Chinese Cartoon Masters". A total of 15 people listened to the lecture.
The Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna will continue to hold a number of lectures on Chinese art and culture, and through a series of expert lectures, local people can get closer to Chinese art and understand Chinese culture.

On May 17, the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna held a cultural experience workshop with the theme of “Paper-cutting”, with a total of 5 cultural enthusiasts participating.

Wettbewerb zum Thema Panda

Am 28. Juni veranstaltet die Botschaft der Volksrepublik China in Österreich gemeinsam mit dem Tiergarten Schönbrunn einen „Tierischen Sommerabend“ zum Thema Großer Panda. Um den Charme der Großen Pandas weiter zu erforschen und den freundschaftlichen Austausch zwischen China und Österreich zu fördern, findet ein Wettbewerb zum Thema Panda statt.

From May 6 to 9, the "2024 United Nations Chinese Language Day in Vienna" event was held at the Vienna International Center. The Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna was invited to participate in the event.
This event aims to celebrate the 15th United Nations Chinese Language Day. As the first Confucius Institute in Austria, the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna has been invited to participate in the event for 14 consecutive years.

On April 26, the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna held a language partner activity with the theme "When I‘m in love, I will...". A total of 18 people participated, including 9 Chinese learners and 9 German learners.

On April 17, Dr. Hannes Jedeck was invited by the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna to give an academic lecture entitled "Chinese Avantgarde Music of the 1980s".

The Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna will continue to hold a number of lectures on the theme of Chinese music and culture in 2024, allowing local people to get closer to Chinese music and understand Chinese culture through a series of expert lectures.

On April 17, the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna was invited by the Bundesgymnasium 8 in Vienna to hold a "Three Steps to China" cultural experience activity for 6th grade students. The activities included: China overview lectures, Chinese trial class and cultural workshop (tea art, calligraphy and Chinese chess).

A total of about 80 students participated in this event. This event is the second time this year that the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna has visited local schools.

On April 12, the opening ceremony of the "Xiao Lin Cartoons Exhibition" was held at the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna. Nearly 30 guests were invited to attend. After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the month-long "Xiao Lin Cartoons Exhibition" officially kicked off.

On March 22, the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna held a language partner activity with the theme "When I exercise, I will...". A total of 18 people participated, including 9 Chinese learners and 9 German learners.
The Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna plans to hold language partner activities on the fourth Friday from March to May and the third Friday in June 2024. The time is 16:30-17:30. Everyone is welcome to sign up.

On March 20, the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna was invited by Piaristenvolksschule Maria Treu to hold a "Three Steps to China" cultural experience activity for the fourth grade students of the school. The activity included three parts: "China Today" lecture, Chinese trial class, calligraphy and paper-cutting workshops. A total of 20 students participated in the event.

From March 7 to 10, Austria’s largest vocational and education fair (BeSt3) was held at Wiener Stadthalle.
During the exhibition, the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna provided Mandarin course information and Chinese proficiency test consultation, and carried out cultural project promotion and other activities.
Throughout the expo, 200 to 300 people visited the institute's booth every day.
