Ups I did it again...
The last seven days I was busy roasting, grinding, mixing and packing my spice blends. My whole studio smells like an oriental bazar... Loving the rain on my face during my daily early morning walk in Vienna's Augarten. We had a blast of 2 shows yesterday evening with Amsterdam Klezmer Band and Dunkelbuntlbunt at Klezmore Festival Vienna The AKB boys handed me over the final promo CD of their upcoming album (that I had produced until two weeks ago) but never listened as a whole album yet. I have to admit it became a wonderful musical journey... I cant wait to get hand on the vinyl test pressing I am planning to spin out of my bicycle soundsystem on 14th December @ Balkan To Bollywood OPEN AIR at Karmelitermarkt or 22.12. at BassClub at Flex... In the meantime I am about to prepare my anual spice blends for Wandelwerkstatt and the spice bazar in my studio.

Over the last few months I had the honor of producing the new album for the Amsterdam Klezmer Band. Our first collaborations date back 20 years and can be heard on my debut album MORGENLANDFAHRT. One of the songs "La Revedere" became an anthem in the Balkan music scene and can still be found in numerous world music DJ sets today. The new Amsterdam Klezmer band Albm will be released in January, but we are already celebrating its completion at the Klezmore Festival Vienna with a double concert (AKB LIVE / DB DJ SET) at Metropol.

Today I am giving birth to another song for the upcmoming Amsterdam Klezmer Band album. It is always a very special moment, when a song finally gets its wings, when I can listen through it and I am 100% content, in this video I am at 99,5%. The vocals are sung by no other than legend Brenna MacCrimmon The album will be released in early 2024 but I am going to play most of the tunes to the public during my DJ Set (after AKB's live show) @ Klezmore Festival Vienna, 16th november.
Momentarily I am brewing on this JUMPER for the upcoming Amsterdam Klezmer Band album I am producing right now... The wobble bass I created with my beloved MS10... and 10 more days to go until production deadline... In this state of high pregnancy I am actually living in my studio, working day and nightshifts. Much respect for my upstairs neighbour who knows every single bassline, chord progression and kick drum, thats for sure 🙏🥰

𝗚𝗶𝘁𝗸𝗶𝗻'𝘀 music is evocative, largely wordless and guitar-driven. The familiar merges with the enchantingly strange. Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist "Brian J" aka Gitkin is a vintage sound alchemist with an obsession for dubby spring reverb. Gitkin puts forth a rich palette of melodies ranging from blues to Greek and Middle Eastern modalities, Peruvian chicha and Saharan Tuareg guitar style on a funky relaxed beat. Gitkin belongs to the family of the legendary New York "Global Electronic" record label "Wonderwheel Recordings" (Nickodemus, Chancha via Circuito, Spy From Cairo, Populus etc.) and represents an enticing and exotic sound. Forged in his hometown of New Orleans - cultural and musical melting pot - hub between tradition and modernity Gitkin records his records of which he is now on his third.
The warm-up and the after-show party are organized by DJs Jimmy Rosas and Ulf Lindemann aka Dunkelbunt with their party series "Balkan To Bollywood". A colorful and danceable feel-good sound between East and West, traditional and club sound.

The DUNKELBUNT SOCIAL CLUB community is a loose scene of international musicians, DJs, club pros, soundscapers, radio makers, label gurus. They all have one thing in common: They live in the permanent adrenaline of club culture, and they mix the ethnic music of their forefathers with all kinds of crazy current vibes. These Stage Compañeros meet during the DUNKELBUNT SOCIAL CLUBNIGHTS which is everything at once: world trip and friendship document, peace demo, groove selection and dream space. Melt down, melt in – come in and rave!
