Abstract: This follow-up session focuses on the applicability of some of the visualizations and centrality measures in social network analysis (SNA). Using R-software packages, the session will set up and discuss the general steps for developing R scripts for analysis of social networks with small and large-N data sets. The session will cover how to visualize the networks, how to modify elements of the graph, and how to calculate centrality measures. This session only sets the basics of SNA in R software. Basic knowledge of R is assumed, however, general interest for future pursuance would also benefit from this session. The session will also conclude by making available scripts for Python programming language as an additional tool for the analysis of social networks.



Important note: Participants are highly advised to watch last year’s workshop “Social Network Analysis” workshop by Nassim where he covered the theory and formulas behind SNA techniques. Please find the workshop at the following link:
