For our company excursion last week, we stepped together into a time machine that transported us away from our devices 📲💻 and back to medieval times!

Right after arriving in the amazing Styrian Volcano Land / Vulkanland Steiermark 🌋, we were enchanted by majestic birds of prey 🦅
After a relaxing lunch by the lake, we continued in the afternoon with exciting medieval knight games 🏹🪓 archery, axe throwing, or knight KUBB – there was something for everyone!

The crowning finale was a hearty knight's feast in the evening 🍗🍻

The fully digital proof of ID is now live in Austria's ID wallet 📲🇦🇹
From now on, Austrian citizens can officially show their proof of ID with their smartphone to third parties or private individuals as well as to law enforcement authorities 🛂
The proof of ID consists only of the first name, last name, date of birth, and portrait picture of the holder, underlining the data-minimized approach for eAusweise.
After the successful launch of the digital vehicle registration in February 2024, we are to contribute als for this next important milestone!

Ab sofort steht Ihnen der digitale Identitätsnachweis in der „eAusweise“-App zur Verfügung! 📲🎉

Sie können Sich nun bei Ausweiskontrollen innerhalb Österreichs sicher und einfach per QR-Code mit dem Smartphone ausweisen. Ab 2026 ist das auch europaweit möglich.

👉 Die Voraussetzung für die Nutzung ist die Vollfunktion der ID Austria und ein gültig hinterlegter Lichtbildausweis in den Registern der Verwaltung.

The digital identity "eID.li" of the Principality of is now officially notified, allowing it to be used for electronic identification throughout all EU member states in the future! Likewise, registration for electronic services provided by the government will be possible using a notified eID from an EU member state.📱🛂

As of eID.li, we are more than proud that eID.li passed the notification for class A and class B according to criterias. This is a huge step forward for the ongoing journey of eID.li!

Erster digitaler Ausweis Österreichs ist Meilenstein in der Digitalisierung

Im Oktober des Vorjahres präsentierten Innenminister Gerhard Karner und Staatssekretär für Digitalisierung Florian Tursky den digitalen Führerschein. Dieser ist der erste digitale Ausweis Österreichs und wurde mittlerweile 203.561-mal aktiviert. Im Zuge von Kontrollen wurden die digitalen Führerscheine bereits 744-mal digital gescannt.

„Die Digitalisierung soll unser Leben einfacher und Abläufe effizienter gestalten. Bereits mit der Anwendung FinanzOnline sind wir in Österreich Vorreiter im E-Government. Mit der ersten digitalen Ausweisplattform und dem digitalen Führerschein, der von der Bevölkerung sehr gut angenommen wird, führen wir diesen Erfolgsweg konsequent fort“, so Finanzminister Magnus Brunner, der auch für Digitalisierung zuständig ist.

“Mit der eAusweise-Plattform und dem digitalen Führerschein ist uns ein Meilenstein in der Digitalisierung gelungen. Mit dem digitalen Führerschein entfällt lästiges Suchen und Kramen nach einer Lenkberechtigung, da diese schnell und einfach am Handy verfügbar ist. Die über 200.000 aktivierten digitalen Führerscheine in der eAusweis-Plattform zeigen uns, dass die Digitalisierung in Österreich auch angenommen wird”, erläuterte Staatssekretär für Digitalisierung Florian Tursky.
