Public announcement 📣 The Herb Bar at Biophilia Health is now open! 🌿 What is The Herb Bar? It is simply our herbal medicine dispensary of over 100 herbs. We use these liquid herbs to make individualised herbal tonics for our clients that are tailored to their specific needs! If you are fighting a cold or flu, viral or bacterial infection, suffering from allergies, having a flare up of an inflammatory condition, or just feeling fatigued or run down, there are herbs that can be effectively utilised for all of these presentations! Get relief when you need it most using natural and safe solutions. Herbal medicine is one of the oldest and most unique types of medicine around. Your body innately knows how to heal and herbal medicine helps to stimulate that healing process, without the side effects commonly seen with synthetic medicines. The Herb Bar is open for walk in acute appointments between 10-6pm Monday to Friday and 9-3pm on Saturdays! Or if you would prefer to have an appointment from the comfort of your own home, Telehealth appointments are available and we can express post your herbal medicine to you. Also a reminder that we have 20% off all appointments until the end of July. This includes Herb Bar acute appointments! We look forward to helping our clients in new ways, by making herbal medicine more accessible to the wider community. Lachlan, Connie & the team at Biophilia Health 🌸

Mother's DAy
This is a long read, but I had some tears of happiness and a deep feeling of pride writing it. This video was created for Mothers Day in 2016. Over 7 years ago, aged just 20. My life was rocked with a shock diagnosis of stage IV lung cancer. The cancer was advanced and had spread throughout my body, I was told I had very little chance of survival. However, I did not accept this outcome, and more importantly neither did my Mum. I was determined to do whatever I needed to survive and come back stronger. Mum was determined to research and discover every treatment or opportunity that could potentially save my life. I’d been told that the conventional medicine offered to me could at best, prolong survival, however I wasn’t expected to live past 2 years. This is when I discovered Naturopathy; I completely changed my diet and lifestyle and began an integrated approach of both orthodox and holistic medicine. Within 12 months I underwent chemotherapy, multiple rounds of brain radiation, 2 brain surgeries, 2 heart surgeries and I received a clinic trial treatment that lasted 6 months. This was incredibly difficult, but I remained focused on maintaining an optimal lifestyle to support my body and keep my vitality as high as possible, to endure these treatments. I credit Naturopathy and complimentary medicine for keeping me as strong as possible, allowing me to bounce back each time. But it wasn’t enough to keep the cancer at bay. It continued to mutate and progress and I was running out of options. Mum’s continued to advocate to find the best treatments for me, she asked the oncologist the right questions, she made him think outside of the Royal Adelaide Hospital, outside of South Australia, even think about what was being researched overseas and how that could benefit me. She spent hours every night researching online and networking with lung cancer groups around Australia, until she discovered the clinical trial I needed, it was in Brisbane. She informed my oncologist,

The world is constantly changing but it’s important to maintain responsibility over our health where we can. Regular physical activity is vital to good health and contributes to a greater sense of well-being. We may be limited in isolation but we already have all we need if we have sun light, fresh air, and nature around us. Even if it is just a small courtyard, get outdoors and get creative. Increase your heart rate and sweat it all out! Since the closure of our local gym we have taken the opportunity to exercise in a new way, creating a mini-circuit in our yard. What physical activities have you been doing in isolation?
