On a trip to Mount Gambier earlier this week, I found these wax crayons for an art activity at the Riddoch Arts & Cultural Centre. Check out the patterns and colours! I think I need to make some of my own.

Playing around with procreate and getting to know the brushes and layers. Still love a real paintbrush and canvas but this is definitely fun to experiment with whilst rugged up in bed on a cold Tuesday night.

Wooden greenhouse decorations = painting gorgeous butterflies 🦋

Many years ago, I painted this wall in my study/studio. It was inspired by a stationery line from Target. It was not my usual colour palette, but something drew me to it. I even painted a matching table.

Next week, the carpet is coming out, and floorboards are going in, so at the same time, we are getting most of the house repainted professionally. This is being painted over, ready for a new beginning. Part of me isn't ready to see it go. Maybe it's because I haven't quite chosen what to do with it yet (secretly thinking of spending $$$ on .rainbow wallpaper) or maybe it is because painting over it means a redesign of the space that I'm not ready for. It's just paint, right??? Or is it? I don't spend enough time in here anymore and it used to feed my soul. Maybe the wall isn't what needs changing...

This delicious background was the base of an art journal page I was working on today with artist Tracy Scott. I had to stop here and take a picture. Have not applied a filter and it looks much better in person but... just good to be painting again.

I start a new role in 2022 so working out how to keep this little outlet of mine in flow so I can destress from my busy work world. New things are coming....

Today I did a little live demo in a fb group that I'm a part of. Scary as I've never done a live before but fun and I kind of loved it. Check out one of the pieces of inky goodness I created. Feeling like these colours would make some gorgeous earrings.

Happy Birthday !!!! One year ago today I launched my little side hustle, a creative outlet to share my art out of the pages of my art journals. Painting is my way to destress from the demands of my job and life in general.

My releases were limited and I ended up making earrings too, but this was never about pumping out product and making sales. I love being able to make wearable art and do a happy dance every time someone resonates with a piece and makes a purchase.
