Even though the aim of meditation is innate peace and enlightenment, only a few can attain this in the short term. Escaping Emotional Jail ✔️ Emotional Jail is a powerful metaphor that encapsulates an entrapment which you may experience, due to the web of self-limiting thoughts and emotions manifesting when you get into a so-called emotional state. When you get deeply emotional, it becomes hard to recognise the barriers built by the passive intellect of the mind. In the throes of an emotional state, the passive intellect orchestrates a relentless parade of self-limiting thoughts and corresponding emotions, constructing an intricate tapestry of limitations and excuses. These thought patterns become the bars of your emotional jail, restricting your ability to think clearly. This metaphorical emotional prison is not only a construct of your mind, but also an energetic state that takes its toll on your mental, physical, and emotional well-being.
Escaping your emotional jail is about how you can learn transformative techniques to break the chain of emotional cause and effect. Thereby giving you an opportunity to break free from this emotional quagmire of your own construction.
The journey to escape the emotional jail is an inner odyssey, requiring commitment to mindful awareness and bringing forward cognitive mastery. As you cultivate these skills, they can help you to become aware of the thoughts and emotions which have formed the prison bars and walls. Being aware is the first step to being able to dismantle the walls of self-imposed limitations, creating an opening for renewed mental and emotional freedom. Escaping your emotional jail, requires reclaiming control over your thoughts and emotions, unlocking the potential for a more liberated, empowered, and balanced existence.
Entering into a state of cognition is an extremely useful key to unlocking your emotional jail. This is not a passive quietening of your mind, but a deliberate and focused effort to silence the cacophony of the thoughts. Cognition involves a dedicated purpose of thought, a specific conscious redirection of mental energy toward constructive, empowering, and liberating perspectives. By quietening the mind with intention, you can create a space for clarity, and the dissolution of the emotional jail’s energetic grip.

What is Life Force Meditation ✔️ Life Force Meditation, in its simple and purest form, is all-encompassing harmlessness to be at one with yourself. This spiritual practice requires that you harmonize your Life Force energies, thoughts, and emotions, allowing you to attain a state of balance and harmony. Life Force Meditation awakens the light within you. The transformative power of this practice emphasises the need to dissolve the barriers created by material thoughts, emotions, and feelings that shroud the true self.
At its core, Life Force Meditation is an exploration of the inner landscape, a journey to rediscover the light of your Life Force, the authentic essence that resides within every individual. The barriers constructed by the mind and persona are like veils obscuring this inner radiance. The practice allows you to peel away the layers of conditioned thoughts and emotions that have accumulated over time, allowing more Life Force energy into your life.
One of the keys to Life Force Meditation lies in the cultivation of an open, peaceful, and quiet mind. This is a necessary and often overlooked aspect. A quiet mind is needed so your inner Life Force energies do not feed the uncontrolled thoughts and emotions of your passive intellect.
As you undertake any of the Life Force Meditation techniques, special commanding thoughts known as directives, are strategically placed within the back of your mind, and then the directives gradually flow forward into your conscious mind. Additionally, these techniques use a unique sequence of finger gestures, which helps focus your mind on “being in the moment” and applying the directive.
This practice transcends the superficial layers of identity, leading you to deeper states of meditation, and creating an environment conducive to the awakening of your inner light. As the light of your Life Force is awakened, it becomes a guiding beacon, illuminating the path to self-realisation to become more at one with yourself and the world around you.

Not Your Way ✔️ How often have you seen or read something and immediately dismissed the notion with the thought I know better? It is a common human trait. Some of us build very strong personas over our lifetime where we believe our thoughts or views are the right or only way.
Releasing the grip on the notion that your way of viewing, thinking or even being is the only way, can help to open your mind to new ideas and possibilities. Letting go of the idea that “Your Way is the Only Way” may prove difficult for some people, but doing so can often provide great opportunities for learning or collaboration. It is always good to be open to new perspectives, as invariably other people will have had different life experiences, and thus will see things slightly differently from how you see things. This shift in mindset can be very helpful in many aspects of life, even if you then later choose your solution or approach after having considered other perspectives.
This same notion holds true for any activity which you decide to take for self-improvement, spiritual development or awakening. Always try to have an open mind when you are presented with a new or different way of doing things. You may be surprised at what you may learn in the process. Sometimes this learning may not come directly from what you have undertaken, but arises as a result of having opened your mind to new possibilities.

Procrastination Affects Your Happiness ✔️ Procrastination, often dismissed as a harmless delay, conceals a significant impact on your well-being and can affect your pursuit of happiness. On the surface, procrastination, or delaying things may seem innocent. However, the crux of the matter is that procrastination, rather than just getting on with things, can often lead to a hidden accumulation of energy, which in some cases can result in increased stress.
It is not uncommon to be faced with tasks which you may deem undesirable. In these situations, the mind naturally gravitates towards avoidance. This avoidance perpetuates delays and adds to the underlying emotional causality. The looming sense of “I don’t want to do this” can very quickly build to be a burden, amplifying the stress associated with the task at hand. This thinking pattern then creates a feedback loop, which not only delays the completion of necessary responsibilities but affects your emotional well-being.
Addressing procrastination requires a proactive approach. By confronting the task head-on, you can liberate yourself from the grip of avoidance, unravelling the knots of stress that hinder your path to happiness. Tackling necessary tasks, not only frees up mental space, but also creates a sense of accomplishment. The release from procrastination allows for a redirection of energy toward more enjoyable aspects of life, fostering a positive cycle where the pursuit of happiness becomes an achievable endeavour.

How Sound Can Boost Your Meditation ✔️ Meditation is a practice that has been around for centuries for many good reasons. It is a powerful tool for reducing stress, improving focus, enhancing your well-being and unlocking your spiritual awakening. While there are many different forms of meditation, one aspect which can be overlooked or conversely overemphasised is the use of sound.
The application of sounds during your meditation, whether natural or intentionally generated, has the potential to boost or enhance the meditative state through several key aspects. The harmonious melodies of nature, the soft cadence of chanting, or a gentle rhythm, can all serve as powerful catalysts for a meditative experience that surpasses the ordinary.
As you start to practice meditation, you may find that your mind teems with thoughts and distractions, which hinders your ability to properly meditate. The use of wisely chosen sounds of nature, such as flowing water, rustling leaves, or bird songs, can act as harmonious companions during meditation. These sounds, often associated with serenity, create a backdrop that eases the mind into a state of relaxation. By immersing yourself in the gentle cadence of these natural sounds, helps to keep you focused, so the chatter of the mind does not disrupt your meditation.
Secondly, sound can be used to help directly induce a meditative state by calming the mind and nervous system. Certain types of sounds, such as binaural beats and white noise, have been shown to have a calming effect on the nervous system. Additionally, the application of a rhythmic pulse of binaural beats can, for some people, create a sense of synchronisation and harmony between the left and right hemispheres of the brain. Through the application of these sounds, you may be able to more easily enter a meditative state due to a harmonised mind and relaxed nervous system.
Thirdly, the use of sounds, such as the resonant tones of chimes, gongs, singing bowls and the like, can be applied as intentional tools for meditation focus. These sounds, carefully chosen for their vibrational qualities, can be used to anchor the focus of your mind. The rhythmic repetition of sounds can help synchronise your awareness to your breath, creating what some describe as a cohesive and meditative experience. By attuning to these intentionally created sounds, you can help focus your mind to cultivate a heightened sense of presence, allowing the mind to settle into a tranquil state conducive to deeper meditation.
If you are looking for a way to kick-start or boost your meditation practice explore the many different applications of sound. There are many different types of sounds, including silence which can be used in meditation. Find one that works best for you. Once you become more proficient at meditation, you will likely find you no longer need the use of sound to boost your meditation.

Are you Awake? ✔️ Being fully awake in a metaphysical context entails a heightened awareness of the ongoing processes within your field of consciousness. It involves a mindful recognition of the ebb and flow of thoughts and emotions, empowering you to navigate your mental landscape with clarity and responsiveness.
So instead of unquestioningly succumbing to the whims of your thoughts and emotions, remain vigilant and acknowledge the current state of your mind and emotions before they reach a tipping point, or the proverbial point of no return.
By staying attuned to the nuances of your inner world, you can foster a greater sense of self-awareness and follow through with conscious choices that align with your aspirations.

Live in the Moment ✔️ Whatever the past was, it is now gone. There is nothing you can do to change anything that has gone before. Turn your attention to the here and now. It is hard to resist the allure of dwelling on what has gone before. But if you want to be successful in your life, you must turn your attention to what is happening to you right now. You might be tempted to dwell on the past because it was awful, or because it was wonderful. Either way, you have to leave it behind, because the only way to live is in the present.
If you revisit the past because of regrets, then you should realise that you can’t go back and undo what you have done. The reality is that we have all made some form of one or more decisions in the past which we later regret, but that is the past. If you hang on to guilt, you are only damaging yourself, feeding a new cycle of emotion which could lead you to a very similar situation. What you can do is learn from the past. Acknowledge the choices you made and do your best to make better choices now and in the future.
If on the other hand, you yearn for the proverbial good old days. Take the opportunity to appreciate the memories, but also move on and put your efforts into finding happiness in the present. We all have to leave things behind and discover the opportunities which lay in the present to create additional positive memories.
It can be helpful to see the past as a separate part of your life, like a different room in your house such as a library filled with books of your memories. You can visit this room, but importantly it is not where you live your life, or at least you shouldn’t.
Savour all the moments that life offers by treating every second as important and precious. Don’t waste it unnecessarily living in the past. Live in the now for a more fulfilling life.

How Negative Thoughts Affect You ✔️ Delving into the intricacies of the human psyche, it becomes evident that negative thoughts or thinking have an impact which extends beyond thoughts themselves. To better comprehend the impact of your thinking, you need to consider the profound connection between your thought patterns, emotions, and the energetic fabric of your being. This may lead you to the realisation that your mind is not only a generator of thoughts, but a sculptor of the energetic landscape that shapes our overall well-being.
Negative thoughts act like dense clouds, casting deep and long shadows over the mental landscape. If your mind fixates on these destructive aspects, it unwittingly fuels their energetic existence. The energy generated by persistent fear, worry, and destructive emotions can coalesce into a formidable barrier; an energetic interference, akin to static, disrupting the natural flow of the human mechanism.
This energetic disturbance, when left unchecked, becomes a major contributor to both physical ailments and mental imbalances; echoing the profound connection between the mind and the body.
Understanding the energetic consequences of negative thoughts becomes a pivotal point in the pursuit of your well-being. The realisation that your mental states are interlinked with the physical and energetic dimensions of your being can inspire a shift in perspective. By cultivating this awareness, you can redirect the energy of destructive thoughts, or transform their nature through methodologies such as emotional alchemy.
This basic understanding of how negative thoughts can affect you, gives the insight to break the cycle of negative thought patterns, promoting mental clarity and emotional resilience.

Your World in Your Mind ✔️ The perception of the world around you is greatly influenced by the state of your mind as you experience the world through your mind. These perceptions are not mere reflections of the outside world, but are powerful filters on life. The lens through which you view the world is shaped by the state of your own consciousness.
This symbiotic relationship between internal states and external experiences highlights the pivotal role of perception in shaping our interpretation of reality. This important fact acknowledges that your inner landscape, teeming with thoughts, emotions, and feelings acts as the master painter, imparting hues and tones to the canvas of your reality.
Once you become more aware that your mind colours your perceptions of the world around you, you can begin to appreciate how these perceptions can be altered. If your mind is clouded with negative or despondent thoughts, the world may be manifest in a gloomy hue. Conversely, when your mind is filled with happiness, the world will take on a similar positive outlook.
By understanding the profound impact your mind can have in your life, you can take the opportunity to alter or recolour your perceptions. You are capable of changing the ordinary into the extraordinary and shaping a world that resonates with the vibrancy of your innermost thoughts and emotions.

How the Sun Rules ✔️ The Sun is the centre and ruler of the Solar System. The sun is the life-giver as it sends out energy and light to all the planets. Without this energy, all life as we know it would cease.
The Sun to the positive aspects, radiates material energies to create change. The energies of the Sun will seemingly magnify the energies of any celestial object in opposition to the position of our home planet, the Earth. Meaning quite simply, that when the Sun is in a constellation, the energies of that constellation will be intensified, so that people born of the same Sun Sign will be more likely to resonate with these aspects more than other individuals.

Time for Yourself ✔️ Many of us believe we achieve some downtimes for ourselves, however, the truth is often very different. Do you often find yourself caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily life, spending what should be your alone time worrying about others or responsibilities? Well, this is a common scenario with few of us actually experiencing any quality “me time”.
You can develop a simple and transformative practice of leaving a little space for yourself each day. It is simply learning how to reclaim a few precious moments exclusively for your well-being. While it sounds simple, the achievement of this is often difficult to achieve, especially in the busy and often chaotic lives we all live.
This is the art of doing nothing, for a few minutes each day. This isn’t a time for multitasking or engaging in activities. It’s a breather, a moment to sit still and just be. It is really about doing truly nothing. This is your time to disconnect from the world and reconnect with yourself.
Keep it pure and keep it simple. It is a time for you to just be, take a proverbial breather and try your best to empty your mind. To help you achieve this “me time”, you may find it beneficial to find a quiet corner of the garden or a room to sit. Just sit there quietly breathing, not thinking, not doing, not worrying, just being. You may struggle initially creating this time of pure nothingness, especially if you have an overactive mind or are prone to overthinking; but gradually with repeated application, you can achieve longer periods.
Creating this time for yourself each day is a small yet significant act of self-care. By dedicating just a few minutes to doing nothing, you can recharge, renew, and invigorate your mind and body. Embrace the simplicity of this practice, and witness the positive impact it can have on your overall well-being.

Taking a Different Path ✔️ If the world seems to be telling you that you took a wrong turn, try to admit it honestly and put yourself on a different track. Sometimes we head off down the wrong path in life, often with the best motives. Maybe there was no way of knowing that it was the wrong
path until you embarked upon the journey. No one can be brilliant at everything, and sometimes you must try things to find out whether it feels right and compatible for you.
There is no shame in admitting it once you realise that things are not working out. It is not about quitting, but taking the courage to then look at different directions in your life.

Comprehending Your Intuition ✔️ Deep down within all of us is a wellspring of wisdom, which is colloquially referred to as intuition. Listening to your intuition is a slow-learned process and one which some people never master in their lifetime. It starts by recognising that tiny inner voice or feeling that will tell you when you have done something wrong, or you may get a gnawing feeling in the pit of your stomach.
Some may consider the inner voice of intuition as your consciousness; however, it is actually your Life Force trying to bring some balance to your life and directing you in the proverbial right direction.
Taking the opportunity to listen to this inner voice or intuition is an important part of any spiritual journey. However it is imperative to recognise that this is not the voice of your mental mind, but that of your true inner self.

The Stop Scrolling Challenge ✔️ Take up the challenge to stop scrolling through things on your smartphone for a minute after reading this. With the ever increasing use of modern technology, it is becoming increasingly common to find people of all ages continually being on their smartphones, immersed in VR or playing games.
So, take the one minute stop scrolling challenge now.
Turn down the volume of your smartphone, turn off the screen and put it away.
Use the time to focus your mind on the growing silence which fills the growing void or the seeming gap in time which has opened up.
As you breathe, allow the increasing sense of quietness to pervade every corner of your mind. If other thoughts start to encroach on the quietness, strive to push them aside, giving your mind one true minute of focus and calmness.
Do not be afraid of the quietness or silence, notifications, DMs and other interruptions can wait. Your ability to maintain the focus of your mind is a sign of your inner strength.
Build upon this challenge and do it at least once per day, you will be surprised how much of a difference this simple stop scrolling challenge can make you feel. If you have succeeded in the one minute challenge, try pushing yourself for a greater experience by reaching for a quiet time of 5 or more minutes.

Using Mantras ✔️ The use of mantras has been a part of many spiritual traditions for thousands of years. Mantras are sounds, words or phrases that are repeated over and over again during meditation or other spiritual practices.
The use of mantras can calm the mind primarily by focusing your thoughts. It is this ability to focus your thoughts which is the real power of Mantras, as it allows you to overcome some of the distractions which your mind generates. The sound vibrations of the mantras can resonate with different energies within the human energy mechanism, to promote a greater sense of balance and harmony, and promote a sense of peace and inner tranquillity.
Different mantras are associated with different benefits or intentions and are often chosen based on the individual’s spiritual beliefs and goals. For example, the mantra “Om” is often used to promote a sense of unity and connection with the universe and is commonly used in many different spiritual practices.
The use of mantras can be a powerful tool for spiritual growth and self-discovery. They can help you to deepen your connection to your inner self and the universe.

Everyday Happiness ✔️ Life is predominantly composed of ordinary moments, far outnumbering the extraordinary ones. Whether you are patiently queuing at the supermarket, enduring the daily commute to work, or tending to routine tasks such as feeding pets or doing the washing, the ordinary hours make up the fabric of your existence.
The essence of true happiness lies in the ability to discover moments of joy and fulfilment within the seemingly mundane routines of daily life. Real happiness is about finding beauty in the simplicity of everyday life, appreciating the small pleasures that weave through the tapestry of ordinary hours.
It can be as simple as witnessing the magic of how sunlight bounces off the corner of a sugar crystal left on the side of your coffee cup in the morning. Then through being open to the experience you have noticed how the sunlight reflected through that sugar crystal is scattered in a rainbow of colours onto an otherwise plain wall. Then recognise that happiness, joy, wonder or contentment can flourish in the most unassuming moments.

Mindfulness is Not Always the Answer ✔️ Mindfulness is a helpful practice that can contribute to overall happiness, but it may not always be the answer you need or are looking for. Mindfulness, the hugely popular zeitgeist theory seems to have morphed into the concept that to be happy we must live fully in the present moment. Taken to the extreme this can lead to total focus on whatever you are doing or experiencing “Right This Second”. Some see Mindfulness as a revolution. It is sweeping through many aspects of people’s lives, from mindful parenting, mindful business dealings, mindful eating, and even mindful chores to mindful walking, promising all types of revolutionary changes in people’s lives.
Happiness is a complex and multifaceted concept that is influenced by many factors. While mindfulness can be a helpful tool for cultivating happiness, it is not a standalone solution to all of life’s challenges and is actually beneficial for many other reasons. Other factors in life should be an important source of joy and happiness. So, while mindfulness can be a useful practice for cultivating happiness, it is not a panacea or a one-size-fits-all solution for everyone.
Mindfulness simply involves focusing your attention on your thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations as they arise in the present moment. Mindfulness does not magically create happiness or a better life, it is just a tool which can be used for intentionally paying attention to the present moment and not just with focus, but also with curiosity, openness, and non-judgment. It is often the later aspects which are overlooked in the rush to embrace mindfulness, or follow the latest mindfulness guru or influencer. Mindfulness should be taken as one aspect of many meditative practices which can be used for focus and the reality is that some people do really have problems with the proverbial “Raisin of Mindfulness”. It is important to explore a range of different practices and techniques to find one that works for you to cultivate lasting happiness and improve your mental well-being.
Remember that while Mindfulness is a great tool, it is like a hammer, you cannot do every job with a hammer, and sometimes you need to use a different tool.
