Known for her friendly demeanor, Carol is dedicated to providing exceptional service. Joining our team recently, she brings a wealth of experience to our team. Whether it’s answering enquiries or coordinating appointments, she handles it all with grace. Outside of work, she enjoys long walks and spending time with her growing family.

A note from the ATO today asking you to be alert for scammers! It’s a way cyber criminals trick you into giving them your personal information. They send you fraudulent emails or text messages and ask you to log into online services using your myGov, TFN or other personal details. They use this info to piece together your identity, steal it, and commit fraud in your name.

The deadline to lodge your tax return actually differs depending on whether you are lodging yourself or using a professional tax agent.

If you are lodging yourself, you have until 31 October 2024 to lodge your tax return. If you are using a tax agent, you may be eligible for a lodgment extension to May 2025. Are you looking for an accountant to make this process easy? Give us a call and let’s chat!

Super Contribution Cap Increase📍
The cap has increased from $27,500 to $30,000 from 1 July 2024. This is the allowable before-tax super contribution you can make each year without additional tax being charged on excess. If you have salary sacrificing arrangements in place it is recommended that you review the amounts to sacrifice to remain within the limits OR you may want to increase the amount you are sacrificing. If your contributions are being paid into a government super fund, these caps may not apply to you. Please check with your superannuation fund or give us a call today to chat!

Hot Topic Thursday: Private Health Rebate

If you claim your private health insurance rebate as a premium reduction, make sure you notify your insurance provider if your income has changed, to avoid a refund reduction or even worse, a tax bill!

REMINDER 📍

From 1st July 2024, the Superannuation Guarantee (SG) rate has increased from 11% to 11.5%. Super guarantee is a crucial component of an employee’s wage, and it’s important that the correct rate is paid on time.

You’ll need to ensure your payroll and accounting systems are up to date with the new rate.

If you miss the deadline the amount would become non-deductible and require lodgment of a superannuation guarantee statement that comes with some fines which cannot be remitted.
