Happy International Women's Day!
On International Women's Day (and every day), we'd like to acknowledge and celebrate the incredible contributions of women across all industries and specifically in the whole fresh & perishable food supply chain - from growers, wholesalers, retailers and other wholesale buyers.
Two of our founders - Murad Mekhtiev and Sabina Zeynalova are at SOUTHSTART today and tomorrow, before getting ready for a week in San Francisco and Silicon Valley including attending the World Agritech Summit!
1600 delegates from 16 countries, including farmers, startups, corporates, researchers, government and investors, came along to AgriFutures Australia evokeAG this year. We had an incredible few days of the whole agritech ecosystem collaborating, building new ideas and sharing knowledge.
The panel discussions around agrifood tech supply chains and how the landscape is changing, as well as the insights on the investment predictions for 2023, were absolutely amazing.
As a recap, here are some of the quotes of today: "We still need more angels and investors, but overall the Australian investment ecosystem looks very healthy.” AgFunder
"We have a lot of technologies that are solving on-farm issues, but we also need technologies that are looking to solve problems across the whole value chain”, Tenacious Ventures
Huge thanks to AgriFutures Australia and especially AgriFutures Australia evokeAG team for putting such an amazing conference together!
See you all in Melbourne in 2024 for AgriFutures Australia evokeAG again!
Two of our founders were busy pitching and exhibiting today at the AgriFutures Australia Innovation Tour Breakfast and the SA Innovation Showcase, while also accompanying the AgriFutures Australia delegation on the discovery tour as part of the SA Agritech Meetup Group.
What a great day making new connections before AgriFutures evokeAG formally kicks off this evening.
Thanks to Department for Industry, Innovation and Science and Department for Trade and Investment putting on a great event and to Stone & Chalk for hosting.
Huge thanks to the Climate Salad team for organising the SA Climate Tech Showcase! It was a great way to kick off the year by exhibiting alongside other great climate tech companies, networking and meeting so many amazing people!
What a year 2022 has been!
This was a difficult year for many growers and wholesalers, including most of our early adopters (looking at you, La Niña and floods).
We are constantly inspired by the growers who continue to do what they do day in and day out, growing the food we eat.
Despite the challenges, 2022 saw a successful early access program for OmniOrder, our first capital raise with Skalata Ventures, the establishment of our Egypt-based development team, and the development of new and exciting features that will make OmniOrder even easier to deploy into any fresh produce business.
Thank you to our team, customers, early adopters, investors, mentors and all our supporters in both the fresh produce industry and the startup / Agtech ecosystem. We couldn’t have achieved what we did without you.
As the year winds down, wishing every one of you a wonderful holiday season and a great start to the new year!
Bring on 2023, and stay tuned for a major announcement from the team at Optomni!

We are very excited to partner with Skalata Ventures on our first seed raise and build out a strong foundation for growth!
This raise will support expansion of the OmniOrder platform to cover more use cases and support a national rollout after successful early access trials.
Our mission at Optomni is to help the fresh and perishables supply chain maximise efficiency, become more sustainable and reduce unnecessary food waste and losses due to supply-demand mismatches.

Today is Stop Food Waste Day!
45% of root crops, fruit and vegetables produced globally are lost or wasted each year! This horrible waste happens both within the supply chain and at the consumer level.
In Australia, we already have a number of activities to reduce our food waste. These include consumer education, investment in waste treatment infrastructure, waste diversion from the retail and commercial sector, food collection for redistribution, and research into high value uses for food waste.
At Optomni, we focus on reducing waste in the supply chain by connecting and optimising supply and demand. Supply-demand mismatches are a significant contributor to the 18-22% of waste in Australia's supply chain.
Last week was all about , spending our time on the road meeting with and people we have been virtually working with for some time now!
Huge thanks for the support and collaboration we've received from Agtech and Logistics Hub and all the people involved! And of course, the big part of the trip was to finally meet with the team at Qualipac to support the trial of OmniOrder!
Recent floods have caused massive destruction and damage to farms in Qld but growers are staying strong and are bouncing back as always. We are already looking forward to be back in this beautiful region soon!
Happy International Women’s Day to all amazing women in our community!
“Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow” - is the theme for International Women’s Day, 8 March, 2022 (IWD 2022).
We are proud to see more and more women in Agriculture making an impact, solving challenging problems and helping Australian agriculture thrive! Let’s and celebrate!
🎄 🥂 2021 was a roller coaster year for many people with lots of ups and downs, and this is especially true for our growers, who have faced a range of challenges but have worked through them as always. For us, it has been a huge year as we worked to achieve many milestones in bringing OmniOrder to market.
From the team at Optomni, we wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Thank you to all of our supporters, and may you and your families have a safe and relaxing holiday full of unforgettable memories! 🎄 🥂
It has been a long journey and we are proud to announce that leading Queensland grower Qualipac is set to trial OmniOrder in a Pilot deployment!
Get in touch with our team if you are interested to learn more about OmniOrder.
Australian supply chain optimization platform set for major fresh produce pilot A leading Queensland fresh produce company is set to trial an emerging digital trading and supply chain optimisation platform, which is hoped to boost operations and productivity. OmniOrder…
Our founders love shopping at local retailers to buy the freshest produce and support Australian growers!
At the same time, we are experts in software and AI, with decades of experience creating intuitive solutions used by thousands of users at some of the world's largest organisations.
We saw the urgent need for technology that can reduce the $1.6B of food losses that occur in the fresh produce value chain by connecting supply and demand with AI.
Major supermarkets are already using advanced technologies to manage their inventory, and it is time for the independent sector to have the same capability!

"Who is OmniOrder for?", this is one of the most common questions we get! First and foremost, OmniOrder was built for trading in fresh produce.
We worked closely with growers and wholesalers to make sure that we captured all of the nuances of fresh produce trading and incorporated them into our platform. Then, we went one step further and built a range of features designed to automate and optimise how trading currently works by using AI to match supply and demand.

Great to see Murad Mekhtiev’s piece about how growers can benefit from better market signals through digital trading with OmniOrder has been published by Australian Tree Crop magazine.
Many thanks to Sandy Iosefellis and Bill Efrosinis from for contributing to the story!

Three days have passed at Hort Connections and it has been an excellent opportunity for us to attend the largest conference in horticulture, meet so many people from diverse parts of the industry, explore collaboration opportunities and gain in-depth knowledge about the opportunities and challenges that the industry is facing.
Some key takeaways are:
1. Food waste continues to be a huge issue which simply makes good business sense to tackle
2. Timely and flexible market access depends on government, industry and tech companies working closer together
3. The possibilities offered by greater supply chain transparency, digitalisation and AI can help reduce food waste, increase market access and help the whole supply chain to make better decisions to connect supply and demand
We will be incorporating more ideas into OmniOrder to help the industry get a better pulse on supply and demand.
Thank you to the Produce Marketing Association (PMA) and AUSVEG for putting on a great event!
Technology has been and continues to be an important part of agriculture and the food supply chain. However, for technology to bring value, there has to be proper communication and crucially an element of trust.
