Great day at the Strathalbyn Antique and interior design fair . Lots of people through the doors and many positive comments about our and other rooms created by participating designers. Our room gives a little bit of a nod to the centenary of the First World War with the scheme centring around the ANZAC portrait

Signature Prints

Porter's Venetian Glaze is a clear glossy medium that can be tinted to most colours in the porter's colour range, once tinted the glaze remains semi transparent and allows you to subtlety build up layers of colour with the signature of each subsequent layer being detected through the last. Ideal for walls but looks particularly good on furniture.

This rather elegant Hallway was created by stencilling over a mottled flat background with Porter's Duchess Satin the resulting effect is somewhat reminiscent of a Damask wall covering , to further enhance the illusion we trimmed the walls with a silk cord . A similar and more contemporary effect can be created by using a simple stripe. Try broad horizontals

A hallway floor to a Rose Park villa was given a two tone Porter's Wood wash treatment ,this finish can only be applied over raw timber and when sealed with Porter's Clear coat it provides a tough durable surface. this diagonal pattern has added another dimensional element to a very lineal space.

Can't find a spot in the Kitchen for that all important blackboard !! why not paint a door or two,its worked to good effect here.If anyone is interested in the kitchen colour its Porters Sable with some extra KX tint , this would be a great colour for any Shaker style Furniture.

Recently put up some paper by Brisbane designer Anna Spirro who has designed a collection of naive geometric prints for Porter's , the one we used for our sitting room was Rossy Possy Trellis. lots of punchy primary colours over off white back grounds to choose from. The Bird painting is a reproduction by me .

An idea for some left over wall paper , this is rather a nice hand painted silk from Fromental ,This was done for home ,the cushions are from Ikea and hand stencilled by me, the blanket box is covered in a Florence Broadhurst fabric ( Pagoda) by Materialised . The Softness of the walls is due to the application of padded fabric as apposed to wall paper , bit of an eclectic mix !! but love the rich orange yellow and the taupes together . Nigel

Porter's Liquid iron topped with Instant rust for a new build by Architect Max Pritchard , will need an application of instant rust sealer once the patina has reached its desired level in a few more days . This was applied over compressed cement sheeting, appears to be sitting well with it's surrounding finishes.

This small but rather impressive bedroom in Unley was created with Fromental Hand painted silk paper the accents of colour in the Dado are Porter's Wasabi with highlights on the bamboo plaster work in Porters Duchess Satin in Ecru and Oyster, the pink feature wall is a Porters waxed Fresco polished plaster finish in a custom colour the other elements such as the ceiling stencil and faux Marble and plaster fret work were custom designed by us for the room, the. end result is a beautifully opulent highly individual scheme.

This 1980's double storey Hawthorn property has sympathetically been brought into the present day, with the extensive use of Porters Original Boncote in a Ochre colour, this was applied directly over the original unpainted bagged finish after cleaning . The beauty of this cementatious paint is that it has the characteristics of a lime wash but with more stability and less patination ,applied correctly it will last many many years. The fence has panels of exterior ply painted with Porters Liquid Iron.

Porters Liquid Tin Turned out to be the perfect fit for these beautiful Indian marriage doors , this product is painted on and when dry burnished to reveal its true metallic lustre. The pattern on the reverse of the doors was used to balance the intricacy of the carving on the main side.

This spectacular wall was created for a very contemporary house in the Adelaide Hills I used a combination of Liquid Iron and Instant Rust with Dry Brushed accents of Copper with a coat of shellac and finished with a coat of Clear Coat Acrylic Sealer.
When dealing with such a large wall its always best to break it up into more controllable areas and incorporate these breaks into the design, I think you'll agree its worked to good effect here. Nigel

Just helped John from Evolve Hair king William Road to decorate his new Salon with a custom concrete paint finish exclusive to paint naturally combined with Porters Envelop paper teamed with a Duchess Satin gold in the wash area ,for a small premises the result is surprisingly uplifting I hope you like it . Paid a visit to our friends at Africola last night," Wonderful whiting ," thank you Duncan, Paints supplied by Paint naturally ,Porters lime washes, and stone paints used extensively on feature areas for texture and patina and Resene Acrylics used for wall washes and murals the African Sea goddess and some of the other finishes were executed by Nigel. for those of you that don't know Africola is located on east Tce just behind the Botanic Hotel Please try it and drink in in the amazing atmosphere and cuisine.

Paid a visit to our friends at San Churro Marion yesterday and checked out the Livos ,Alis that we used over a year ago on the out door seating areas , still as good as the day it was done unlike the original finish shown here that only lasted a matter of weeks ,

Recently Painted kitchen ,south coast in Porters Frieda with a softening white wash
and protective sealer.
Any existing timber or laminex kitchen can be painted with minimal preparation when using Resene Smooth service Sealer.This product also allows you to paint on glass or tiles

As I mentioned a while ago Porter's have released their own brand of Chalk Emulsion paint-it's proving to be very very popular-it's hard to keep up with demand for it and the feedback from customers is very positive.

Just to let you know that Porter's have released their own CHALK emulsion paint- great for painting over furniture etc with no sanding or priming to do it will speed up any job. Great range of colours as well
